~Our Renewals~ After a crazy month and things have slowed down a bit, hubby and I are gettin...
It is not an Italian tradition to have a guest book at a wedding, but we really loved the idea of having written memories by all our loved ones who shared our special moment with us.
So, since the main theme of our wedding was "Travel", we bought a Moleskine notebook of an avarage size. You can read the famous story of the Moleskine right below:
Culture, imagination, memory, travel, personal identity
Moleskine® was created as a brand in 1997, bringing back to life the legendary notebook used by artists and thinkers over the past two centuries: among them Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, and Bruce Chatwin. A trusted and handy travel companion, the nameless black notebook held invaluable sketches, notes, stories, and ideas that would one day become famous paintings or the pages of beloved books.
Today, Moleskine notebooks are trusted companions to the creative professions and the imagination of our own times: they have become a symbol of latter-day nomadism, and they are intimately tied to the digital world through a network of websites, blogs, online groups, and virtual archives.
Since 1 January 2007, Moleskine has also become the name of the company that owns the worldwide trademark rights for the brand. Moleskine srl creates, produces, and distributes the wellknown notebooks and their various offshoots. The company grew out of the experience of Modo&Modo, a small Milanese publisher that in 1997 created the Moleskine® trademark, rediscovering and renewing an extraordinary tradition. In the fall of 2006, Modo&Modo was purchased by SGCapital Europe, with the objective of fully developing the potential of the Moleskine brand.
Moleskine srl is a small and creative company enjoying continuing growth. It now has about fifty employees and a vast network of partners and consultants. Its home office is in Milan, Italy. Its American affiliate is Moleskine America, Inc, with offices in New York, established in early 2008.
So, with this said, we customised our Moleskine inside out... on the cover page, we put one of our favourite pict. togethere and used a very soft paper to write the words "09/09/09 Antonietta Mirco Sposi". Inside, we put lot of our picts all throught our relationship, from my degree, to our first trip together, our first Christmas and New Years, etc. It turned out to be very nice and everybody appreciated it and used it to give us suggestion for a happy marriage, or simply to thank us for the party. Many guests write comments on how beautiful teh wedding was planned, etc. We are so happy that we have something to keep about our guests forever!
we also used a specific guest book table, with an open "world suitcase", as you can see by the picts...
Also, we left a note to explain the guests the meaning of the guest book and how much we would appreciate if they used it...
Seemed they got the meaning of the book!!!
If any of you is undecided if either to use a guest book or not, I reccomand to use it, you will truly appreciate to have such memories to share! Also, in case you need further info about Moleskine notebook, here's the website:
