This is 284aimee's Pink Wedding!

so i had to go back to where i got my ring from ( we know her now anyways) and design a band that will fit around my ring, so i did....
i came up with the perfect ring........ its actually an eternity ring but we had to get it made with a curve to fit around my ring...... well i decided to get 2 ..... one for front and one for the back
and then i found marcos...... but he said it was way to much for him..... he said that with all the work he does with his hands then its bound to break or loose it from taking it on and off........ he works in the woods and works on big machinary....... fixing them and stuff...... he does way to much work with his hands, so i agreed to find something more simple incase he does loose or break it.........
im sure it wont be the only wedding band he'll ever have....... we may go through a few........
but me on the other hand...... if i loose mine i wont have another like it!!!!!!!! he said he will only spend that kind of money on a ring once!!!!! hahaha -----thank god for insurance

so i dont know..... and not allowed to ask............
its all a surprise!!!!! marco wants to plan this since ive takin over all the wedding plans and hes not all that involved...... well ok ..... hes not involved at all!!!!! lol
but thats ok.... its not what he likes to do and personally i work better on my own....lol
so as far as the honeymoon its a total surprise!!!!!
i think i may have an idea since i know how he works......
paris or italy........ i think Dominican, Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica..... wont be an option to him since we go every year anyways and its not always a good idea to go in the summer because its the rainy season there..... hate to be rained in on my honeymoon
other than that........Hawaii.........L.A......... i dont know
where ever is good to me!!!!! i will just be happy to be on vacation!!!!
maybe its nowhere!!!! that would be a suprise!!!!!! surprise no honeymoon!!!!
ive always wanted to go to africa but i think i would be kinda scared to go right now............. but i think he knew that from way back when...... i believe i had said it once.....but i sure he wold never remember that and i dont think of it as a romantic place anyways...... hmmmmmmm................. where am i going?????
not like i would mind africa because i wouldnt .... i would love it!!!!

i have 3 bridesmaids and 1 maid of honor
my moh is my sister............... she my big sis and only sibling.... so theres no fighting there........ shes my moh and thats that
then theres my 3 bridesmaids...... sylvie, whos my best friend and lives where i do now..... and laura who is my friend from 10 years back and then theres bree...... the one i knew longest...... shes been my friend for 15 years or so.............. happy to have them all in my life and in my wedding......love them all so much!!!!!
these girls are all wearing the same dresses....... long and pink.....
mixture of fuchia and baby pink...... they are beautiful dresses and i already have them bought and altered.........times going fast!!!!
they will all have matching jewelery that i already bought and matching purses that im looking for and will buy and silver shoes..... preferably matching but not nessasary....... sabrina will kill herself in heels and syvie wont go with out...... go figure!!!

so i have 3 flower girls......my neice Tayler who is 9...... my soon 2 b step daughter Amy who is 7 and Marcos little sister who is also our god child, Adrianna, who is 1 and 1/2....... yes i know......hes 34 with a new baby sis...... his dad found a younger woman......what can i say!!!!! its 2008 and its normal....... just a little funny.... :)
anyways...... all beautiful little girls who are very special and close to my heart.......
they will all be wearing the same style dress as mine...... they will all have a tiera like me and they will be wearing little white gloves........ but noooo gloves for me!!!!! just gloves for them.....
they will all be little mini brides and be a huge part of my day!!!!!!

well im a strong believer of "you get what you pay for" and so is marco............ so our photographer is the best around!!!!
hes really expensive and i kinda hesitated when i heard his price but then relized pictures is all ill have left to show!!!!! so i went for it!!!!
whats done is done and im happy with the decision........ just costing more than i ever thought!!!!! so i say take from one and give to the other....... example, my flowers were much cheaper than expected....im sure it will all even out in the end!!!!! ...........maybe
anyways his name is daniel aucoin..... hes very young and extremly talented...... there people in this world that take photos for a hobby or just take photos because they enjoy it but then theres people like daniel that take photos because it was there calling.....
this is what he was put here for!!!! he definitly found his place in life and is amazing at what he does........its just natural to him!!!!!

so my mom almost went insane!!!!! i left the invitations for her to do and translated the french for her since she doesnt know french.......
she really wanted to put her special touch on it by going through the internet for wording examples but got to frustrated because of the french ones........ i told her not to worry about it and simply take one of the examples off the kit and use that as the invitaions ...... of course we had to make changes to personalize it but it was alot easier that way!!!! and they turned out beautiful!!!!
we have about 50 in english and 150 in french..........will probably need more in french but i think i will just simply make some photocopies and roll them up and put a ribbon around them........and if we see someone we forgot to invite we can just run to the truck and write the name on it!!!! hahahha
i mean all the closest people are already given there invitations....... so all the real invitations are gone!!!!! dont really need to buy more, photocopies will do!!!!!
i feel bad for marcos mother and aunts since theres 200 + invitations sent out!!!!!! they are the ones cooking!!!!! haha

really wanted pink tulips but was told by my florist that they do not last long out of water..... they will actually droop at the top......
so i went with stargazer liliies of course!!!!!
since my bridesmaids are in fushia pink and baby pink they will have the stargazer lillies with white roses and i will be wearing white so my bouquet will be the stargazers with fuchia roses.......
all the guys will have baby pink roses and marco with the fushia rose......... i believe thats how i had it planned............ill have to double check cause its been a while since ive picked..... but that sounds right

so ive been looking on the internet for months now....... looking and looking and looking!!!!!!
it all started in january........... i needed to pick my colors........
started with red......thought it was the color of love then read up on it and found out that pink was the color of love....... so i changed to pink....... then needed another color....... so i just basically chose the color with the best meaning for us.........green which means life, peace, harmony, and fertility
god knows throughout this i definitly need some peace and harmony in my life...........and amongst other things i thought it would look great togther......
so then i google pink and green weddings to see what comes up....... and unexpectantly............lots did!!!
first thing i saw was a candy bar all in pink and green............. and personaly ive never been to a wedding with a candy bar before so for me its the first time ive ever seen it and for sure itll be the first time anyone around here will ever see it...........
so i keep looking.......... find lots of great ideas that ive never seen at a wedding and noone has ever seen around here!!!!!
i love to be unique and find things that arent the norm..... which is very simple to do where im living......
heres the basic rundown of all weddings that take place around here.......
simple ceremony ...... no limo...ever!!!!!
maybe a dance reception after thats it...... no supper...... they get married late here so that they dont have to feed anyone.......
they even take the pictured b4 the wedding because thats the best time to do it ........ since they usually marry at 7-8 at night after would be to dark....... so they obviously dont follow the same tradition as i do...... being that the groom cant see the bride b4 the wedding....

so right off the bat im different!!!!!! im having my wedding mid day and photos after!!!! not before!!!!!
i am having a limo....... well 2 actually.......... a limo for the party and a rolls royce (not sure of spelling) for marco and I.....
then im having a supper and dance/ reception
allthough my supper wont be anything fancy..... just buffett style...... but it is still out of the norm!!!!! i love to be different............and the best part is ... is that all of this is totally normal to me.......
the only thing that is different to me is the candy bar, and some decorations that ive never seen before (i.e lanterns) and i cant wait to do it!!!!
ive been to wedding up here and they dont even so much as decorate the hall!!!!! whats up with that????? people around here just dont celebrate the way im used to seeing but it makes it all the much more special to me and unique!!!!!
i feel that im kinda lucky because everywhere i look online we are all kind of following the same stuff to an extent but no one around here has ever seen it so i will be a first!!!!
im sure if ive had my wedding in a bigger place i wouldnt be so lucky because it would be things that are being done before.
even though i am doing things ive found online i am also adding a few special touches of my own as im sure we all are!!!!!!
im just getting really excited and kinda overwhelmed since i only have a month left to go!!!!!
so yah......... decorations ..... pink and green...... decorating with lanterns...... green apples and pink flowers......found lots of pink stuff that went on sale after valentines day........ huge hint for anyone having pink in there wedding!!!!! found lots of great stuff......... cheap cheap cheap!!!!!

my name is Aimee and Marco is my future husband 2 b....... im 27 and hes 34
so we have been together for 4 years now and have been engaged for a year and a half.......
i am the luckiest woman alive.......... hes so sweet, and kind and caring and sensitive and not to mention hes hot!!!!!
he absolutly adores me...... and shows it all the time!!!!!
now dont get me wrong....... every man has his flaws..... but at least this one works on making them better, and too me, thats what counts!!!!!
Marco and i have met 4 years ago and pretty much lived together since then.......... i moved away from where i lived to live with him....... which is an extremely small french community where i am the only english person around....... so needless to say i had to pick up french very quick because life here was getting very boring..... i wasnt able to communicate with anyone other than marco....
even his 2 kids were only french........... now i speak french and his kids can speak english and life here is much better........ i can go to the grocery store with out feeling like an idiot!!!!! i used to go and people would try to talk to me but i never understood them so i would just nod and smile....nod and smile.....
but now after over 3 years of being here i wouldnt leave........
the people here are amazing and i have lots of friends not to mention i met the most sincere sweet best friend ive ever had!!!
i love her to death!!!!!
We had recently moved out of his house and bought a house of our own......( last november) and i love it.......
we dont have kids together but he has 2 with a previous girlfriend of 10 years......... his kids are 14 and 7........ michael is 14 and little amy is 7........... yes he met me as they were breaking up...........
and no they were never married or even engaged to be.............
simply together because they thought it was best for the kids.........
then relized they had the right to be happy as well so began to split...........and then i came into the picture........
marco played his cards very well............ theres nothing in this world he wouldnt do for his kids so he kept me in the the dark from them for a while...... i actually didnt meet them for almost 6 months until they came to terms with the break up........ and i must say it was very responsible for marco to do that ...there has never been an issue with me and the kids........ everyone gets along great........
maybe if he would have introduced them to me earlier they might have held a grudge towards me thinking im the reason for the break up........ but it all worked out great and we have the kids every weekend, holiday and all summers long!!!!!
We do however have animals....... he never liked animals and im an animal fanatic!!!! so he adjusted................... we have a persian kitty, and shit-zu and a baby english mastiff only 4 months but weighing in at 65 pounds!!!!!!!! hes gonna be big!!!!!!!
im originally from halifax which is 7 hours from here and marco is from here............our wedding will be here in kedgwick where we live....... itll be quite the drive for anyone on my side who comes!!!!!

so i picked my ring............ else wise im sure i wouldnt have the one i wanted.......... and also marco didnt trust his instinct............
i could lie and say he might have done as well as i have but its just not the truth......... maybe im picky but i dont believe so...... i just know what i like and what i want.......... i wanted a unique ring that you simply dont see everyday...........
also to me quality and quantity both played a role....... i know alot more about diamonds than he did....... now he knows quite a bit himself as too what to look for since he did all the ring shopping with me.... :) (great to have that kind of knowledge for future presents) hahaha
so back to my ring............... its a 1.2 carot diamond sitting in platnum....... with a platnum design through it as well........ the band itself is in 18k ...... it also has 2 diamonds on the front and back on the ring.....its really gorgeus...........and i love it
now i just have to go get my camera to put up some pictures............

i went in to look at a few dresses and hopefully buy one that day since it was hitting the time frame that i needed to quikly have it , order it and get it altered...... usually need about 6 months and i was pushing 5..........
so i went to go looking........ gave myself a week to find one but found it on the second day on searching........ i was actually the last dress i tried on since i was not looking for a big princess type dress but rather i simple flow or maybe mermaid cut..........
i had one picked out..... the first one.....also a maggie and i loved it ....... it was a mermaid cut and it was beautiful........ but i decided as i walked by this other dress (that i previosly said no to because it wasnt what i had in mind) and decided to try it on for fun...... just to make sure there was no other dress than the one i picked........... well that was it........... i was shocked............ it was my dress!!!!!
but then i went through my obsessive behavior issues that i struggle with and i didnt know if i should get that one since i had my mind set on something else......... this whole last minute change does not go well with me........ im undecisive........... and it wasnt what i had seen my self in........... so after an hour of litlerally going back and forth from the changing room trying one on then the other......... back and forth .... back and forth........... i finally decided to go wih my gut and the one i loved...................... so i bought the maggie sottero victoriana
the next day i looked at both on the internet so i could send a pic to my mom via email and when i did i saw there were no comparasen and i was totally satisfied with my decision.......
you know what my problem was..... is that my mother had in my head that she wanted to see me in a simple elegant dress......... so thats what i went out looking for.....................
word of advise...............this is no one elses wedding but your own!!!!!
dont let others fog your mind of what you really want!!!!!!

i actually new i was getting my ring since i picked it out....... i just didnt know when...........
the woman at the jewlery store gave us a date when to expect it back and i was really impatient since i was going home for christmas and wanted to have my ring for my fam to see.........so i called the store.....and it was in ...... but since i called marco said i ruined his surprise and would have to wait to get my ring until he comes up with another plan.............well i believed him but he lied........ which was my surprise............i had a few gifts from him under the tree and i picked up one big one with a card on it.......which is normal, a christmas card..... but inside he had wrote the most beatiful note to me........ hes not romantic at all but it was very sweet.......... he was going on how i changed his life and made him a better man and how he wants to spend his life with me and would i be his wife...........
well i was shaking and crying even though i knew i was getting my ring i just never expected a proposal......... i thought it would be something like this......... i would find a box, open it and put my ring on my finger and assume were engaged!!!!!
but nope........ totaly off gaurd..........so it was perfect....... and infront of my family.............i was so happy they were there with me!!!!!
anyways.........that was my proposal.............i had one :)
