Bridesmaids' Dresses??

I was talking to my parents about what kind of bridesmaids dresses I wanted for my girls. I told them 'as long as they are the same color I don't really care about anything else."

I know that none of my ladies are going to pick the same dress (given the choice) and at least one is going to pick a floor length dress and the rest may pick something short or tea-style.

My parents insist that styles don't matter as much as length. All my bridesmaids should have the same length of dress if I wanted my pictures to look nice.

What do you think?? If I only want the same color, should I worry about the same style or the same length?? Does it really matter??

I love when the dresses are different to suit different girls as everyone is not the same shape, however I agree with your parents to a point. I think you could easily do long and short dresses but I think if you are going to do that half of them should be long and half should be short to balance it out, or else ur MOH should wear either the long or short dress on it's own depending who wants what.
A wedding I was in a few years ago had some of us in short and some in long and it looked great in pics!
Don't worry about the different styles though, that always looks nice in my opinion!!

I too am letting my bridesmaids choose their own style of dresses.  My only rules were that they had to be 5 cm above the middle of their knees, no cleavage, and if they wanted one shoulder, it had to be on the left shoulder.  

The reason I made the same length is that I didnt want 1 person with short and the rest with long (or vice versa).  Although they are getting different dresses made, I still wanted some unity between them all.  I guess it depends on who wants long and who wants short.  If one person wants long, ppl may automatically assume that she is the maid of honor.

I have chosen three floor length styles and I'm looking for a shorter version for my bridesmaid dresses to chose from I think as long as the color matches length doesn't just my 2 cents

I think if 1 or 2 people chose long and the rest short it will look as though the long dresses have special roles especially if the maid of honor chooses short and blend in with the rest of the girls. I was just in my best friends wedding and she had us wear the convertible dress all the same color and length but we tied them all differently any way we wanted that way we could wear them the way we wanted and were comfortable. It turned out really pretty. So that may be something you could think about trying.
