DIY Wedding
Projects....here I come!
I always thought I'd do a couple of diy projects for the wedding. I figured it would save some money and add my own special touches. Today I got the estimate for decorator B and they wanted to charge twice the original budget! I don't know what happened or how they screwed up the numbers but that was a definite NO! They had delivery charges, and charges for some of the simplest things. I looked over the list and I see that I can save sooooo much money if I do corsages and boutineers myself. The plan is to cut cost on the small things so that I can still have the things I can't live without. I'm not only going to do the corsages and boutineers but I'm going to do a wish tree (which I'd already planned making) my toss bouquet, and small bouquets for my mom and his mom. I'm in full diy mode and if there are any other projects that seem easy enough for the average bride I'm all on it.

Ask a Question
Decorators?
So we've been engaged for a month now and I feel like we're pretty much on track. We've booked the church, reception hall, and photographer. We'll decide on the videographer this week but the only thing I can think about is decor! Does anyone know of a good decorator? I have a coordinator to go to the meetings and make sure all the other details are in place but I really need someone to understand my (our) style. We need someone who'll come in, put the stuff out, and pick it up. We've met with two companies but we still feel like somethings off. Decorator A has a bit of an attitude but she can think outside the box. I don't need to be her friend I just need her to find the linens etc. and decorate! BUT we are paying her so she be more professional. Decorator B is very professional but seems uptight. They're very nice but I don't know if they will be able to do all the things we want them to do. BUT if they have a good background so they should be able to adapt. ANYWAYS....if you know of an event planner, designer, or decorator please help!

Our main colors are plum and lilac . Green and fushia are our accent colors. I want our wedding to be timeless the kind where if you look back at pictures you can't tell what year it is. We're still going to have modern elements to so I guess the best way to describe it is traditional with a modern kick!
