I've signed the contract at our original venue (no deposit required).
Total cost to have ceremony there is $300 for 4 hours, absolutely HAVE to be pulling out of the parking lot at 3pm. We don't get a room to get ready in or any other ammenities. It's called Les Bourgeoius Winery and it's about 45 mins from where 90% of our guests live, then we'd have to drive back here(45 mins) for our reception in an Elks Lodge with blah food and a lodge type reception. Nothing wrong with that, I originally never thought we could afford anything better, so I was completely happy with it. Total cost of both would be about $1,800. The winery was my top choice because it's absolutely beautiful. Here's the link, check out the photo gallery.

Then, my florist (family) called in a favor to the owner of a local garden that is the ultimate wedding spot! We would have our ceremony AND reception there. It's mostly outdoors with an indoor backup that's equally as gorgeous. Top notch service with amazing food. Overall, this place is WAY more gorgeous! Here's the link check it out.

The second venue choice is only going to be a couple hundred more! Only $2,000!!!! He's really cutting us an amazing deal. Here's the kicker...my original date was 9-10-11, really cute date on a Saturday, blah blah perfect! The 2nd venue, we can't get married there on a Sat, he'll only give us that price for a Sunday. The next day would be 9-11-11!!! So my question is....Should I get married on a "bad day" in history just so I can have the amazing venue and everything dreamlike to go with it??? I could always go with another sunday in Sept of 2011, which would be the 4th, 11th, 18th and the 25th. None of those are as cutesy as 9-10-11, but idk.... or is 9-11 not offensive? Someone has already said she thought that would be a Bad Luck Charm!!!! I don't know what to do! Please give me all your thoughts.
if it works for you, then it works. don't get all caught up in specific dates. what it is about is you and your future hubby making a commitment to each other and starting the rest of your lives together.
and yeah, i'd 100% move on over to alpine park and gardens!
p.s. These days lots of people are getting married on days other than Saturdays so no worries there! (will he give you the same price for a Friday?)
It's only a date. My friend's baby girl was born 9/11 the year it happened and no one thought of it like "omg she was born on a "bad" day"...I think it's a great chance to have the wedding you want AND take a 'bad day' and give it reasons to be a good one!
