My wedding is far from being traditional.. its not going to be religious ceremony nor am I going all out. It's simply going to be a true replication as me.. Fun, sassy and summery! So with that being said, I think it would be super fun to have a cupcake wedding cake. I've seen other girls on here post pictures on their thoughts about it and I've seen other couples really do it.
Honesty, I don't care what anyone thinks if I do decide to do because as all of us ladies say on here, "It's our wedding and we will do what we want!" I have posted a few pictures of what I have seen so far and am very interested in doing.
The first picture is just the colors of the cupcakes that I would most likely use minus the yellow because that is not within my theme. We will have a traditional cake to cut into and to take pictures with but that's the only tier of cake that we would have. I would probably make mine look a little bit more classier and less kid friendly.
The second picture is of a mousse type cupcake. I have seen this in a wedding cake magazine and it looks just delicious. They put the couples initials on it to add a more personal touch. I wonder how cute they would look in my wedding colors though.
And lastly, ahh my favorite.. but I'm sure cost a fortune. A traditional wedding cake with Hibiscus flowers (my favorite) I know it would cost so much because hibiscus is not a traditional flower, it's tropical and hard to keep preserved for such a long period of time. I grow these here in Michigan in the summer and they only last about a day or so, maybe two if I'm lucky. But I just love these flowers. I'm thinking of looking into seeing how much it would cost to have these flowers. I know I could just surround them around the table but if I could get a wedding cake at a decent price, I would most definitely put them on our cake.
You can do a unique cake too so it stands out and doesnt just look like a wedding cake...try looking on The knot for unique ideas, that you are sure to fall in love with...http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-planning/wedding-cakes.aspx
