Anyone need a family memorial poem for their wedding?

I really hope a lot of you get to see this detail from our wedding. I finally have some professional pictures to share with you all. For all you ladies that have loved ones that will not be there with you on your day I have a beautiful poem for you to use that accompany pictures if you do a vigil.

My family is small and during the year of planning our wedding I lost both my great grandma whom had passed down her wedding ring to me, and her companion whom was like a great grandpa to me. My husband had lost a grandma and a grandpa a few years before, and we really wanted to recognize their presence in our lives. A lot of people visited the vigil that we placed on the beautifully over sized brick fireplace. I even visited them in the middle of the party while everyone was dancing and having a great time to let them know they were missed. No one noticed ... but I got to take a moment to remember how great they were to me. My dad who didn't care one iota about any single details and thought it was all silly really appreciated it had tears in his eyes when he seen the vigil. He thanked me for it which surprised me.





In Memory of our Grandparents
Who Aren't with us Today ....

We thought of you with love today
but that is nothing new,
We thought about you yesterday
and the days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name
Now all we have are the memories
and your picture in a frame
Your memory is our keepsake,
with which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping
we have you in our hearts.

Love you and miss you!


Anyways, I hope this offers some inspiration to some of you out there, this detail was very dear to me.

My 2 grandmas are alive but too old to travel and then Mark's grandma is in Jamaica and same thing - but to tribute them and my 2 aunts that passed , I think this would be so beautiful. Thanks so much. I was literally just thinking about this this am.

I got the vintage looking frames from Winners and Home Sense. There should be more out there. Right now they have a lot of vintage looking frames. Even if they don't have the ones with the pearls like mine, they have a lot of other beautiful ones. They range from $6.99 - $7.99. this llooks great! I think that is a very sweet idea. I was planning on doing a locket with my grandpas pic on my bouquet, but I really like this idea.

This is truly beautiful!  I'm going to be getting remarried to my HS sweetheart.  My mom adored him and he adored her.  Unfortunately, she passed over 9 yrs ago.  It's strange, though, because I'm in the middle of a divorce and I hadn't heard from him in over 25 yrs, but he said he heard this little voice in his head that I needed him.  We had never gotten over each other.  When we visited my mom's grave together, he said he was sure it was mom that was the little voice.  HE said he wants a single rose on the altar with us to symbolize her.  I don't have either parent now and only 1 grandma left (she's almost 104 and won't be able to attend). This is a perfect way to include them.  Thank you!
