What by Day?

I was curious as to what everyone here does by day when they are not planning their wedding? Maybe you plan your wedding by day even while you're at work ha ha ha. So tell me ladies, what is it everyone does by day? I'd love to hear the variety of jobs everyone has, or even if your a student, or unemployed.

Have you been finding it hard to plan your wedding while working or studying? Do you find yourself secretly googling wedding stuff while your boring professor is lecturing or when really you're suppose to be making telemarketing phone calls to miserable people who'd rather you be planning your wedding than wasting their time?

I know I was both a student and a working bride while I was planning my wedding. Good thing I had a small course load and girls I worked with who actually wanted to hear about how my fiance and I got into an argument the night before about why he couldn't remember the colors were blush and not pink. lol

By the way I forgot to mention, I am a gardener for the City of Winnipeg. I design and plant the majority of our downtown flower beds and parks. It's really fun, but hard to answer wedding phone calls with muddy hands! lol

I am a student in a seriously intense design program. I basically planned like mad through the summer than put everything away (laying in wait for December and school holidays). During the holidays I finished all of the invites and did a bunch more planning (photog & marriage commissioner booked). I go back to school on Monday....which means I will be having to put it all back away again this weekend.

Boooo.

I admit that I have looked at a bit of wedding porn while I was in school, but my excuse is that everyone needs a little break now and then....right?

I am a dance/aerobics instructor, it makes it pretty easy to plan a wedding only working for a few hours every day, the downside I obsesses over so many blogs!

Im a server in a large chain restaurant.. Not a job I am totally proud to say I do, but I make good money and it pays our bills so..  
FH is actually a manager in the same restaurant.. not how we met though.. I met him long before he became my boss.. lol

Hey hun, I was a server too for the longest of times, only reason I left is our hotel shut down which hosted the 4 star fine dinning restaurant I worked in. If you find a good place it's possible to make $30+/hr wages! Serving can be the bomb - especially when it pays  the bills! So don't be ashamed ... cheers to serving bride2be04!

I'm a grad student, so I also teach. This semester is going to be intense because I've got my own course to teach, I'm TAing with two recitation sections, I'm taking three grad courses, and I'm also a research assistant. Yeah, getting it all done plus wedding planning is pretty intense. But at least I've got the summer off! Which is why the wedding is scheduled for late summer, so I have time to actually do all those last minute things. :-D

we got engaged right after we graduated college, but we both want to go back for our masters but are waiting until AFTER the wedding, too much money & other things to worry about! hah. but i'm currently working guest services for 2 north raleigh high end salons (not my major though, i have a degree in graphic design) while still looking for a job in my degree

I am a daycare/preschool teacher by day full time and I am also in school taking a full time Early Childhood Education degree by day/night. I'm SUPER busy, especially since I live in northern Manitoba. Everything for our wedding needs to be ordered from online since we have no resources around here! :(  Luckily I have the BEST maid of honor ever. This week our photographer backed out on us and we had to look for another one. There are none here so we are getting one from Winnipeg and she did searched for like two days straight until she tracked one down!

I just graduated last month with an associates degree in culinary arts and hotel restuarant management. i am working for a catering company right now... but i am i the process of getting a job as a baker at horseshoe casino. i go in for my 3rd interview on wednesday so i am really excited!! baking is my passion!!

I own a pet grooming salon, fun but a lot of work! The bookwork never stops!
I also teach a pastry course and a beginners cooking class 2 nights a week at one of the colleges nearby.

Im a stay at home mom to 4. Ages 14,13,12 and 8. Id rather work lol.
I also own my own company that does MORE wedding stuff (printablebride)
All my kids play 2 sports each and my daughter graduates 8th grade this summer. Doing all the wedding stuff on this down time because once spring hits..its baseball, track, football, softball, gymnastics etc LOL

My FH and I, both are research scientists so work full time and so many of you grad students know, as long as one is in lab there is no fixed working time/ schedule. Our experiments dictate our schedules but bright side is- we can go for hour or 2 to meet the vendors during work hours, if need. FH is a real research obsessed (or that's what I call him) than me. We both are teaching this year as well and writing papers and working on our independent grants. Sometimes, I work even on weekends and worked almost everyday during holidays (well, for 3-4 hours a day only). So, yeah it's lot of work and wedding planning is extra stress but also a bit different from everyday stuff.

And Scotchminx, you made me laugh, YES I do look at wedding 'porn' as well whenever get time.

I am a server at a restaurant too. Mine isn't a chain though, it's a family run locally owned one. It's not the best job in the world but it does pay the bills. Plus I meet some really cool people and basically network all day long. My FH works at a hospital and some days I make more than he does as an hourly wage!  I do agree with Bride2be04, sometimes I almost feel ashamed to admit I am 28 and am a server, but I figure in time I will finish school and get a real job.

I am a stay at home Mommy to 2 children. We have a aboy that will be 11 next month and a 6 1/2 year old girl. My FH is in the IT industry,working for Dell,CitiBank,Chase,and the Dallas Cowboys,GO BOYS.The wedding planning has been pretty much 24/7 for the last 6 years.I seriously contemplated becoming a planner/organizer for awhile. Unfortunately my health keeps me from doing so.

Before my little baby boy was born in November, I was working as a paralegal for a law firm in my home town and also as a receptionist at a spa as well :)
As of right now, I'm doing the stay at home mom job, which gives me a fair amount of time to do my planning now, where before there was barely time to even think about wedding planning!

I am a licensed cosmetologist(hairstylist/colorist), and I absolutely LOVE my job. And I like to say I am a part time wedding planner, cause I feel like that consumes a lot of my time! :)

I just recently graduated with my associates degree and am working as a Medical Assistant at a busy family practice. It's been hard to plan through the week since I work 7:15-5:45 and just want to crash when i come home. So most of my planning gets accomplished on the weekends lol.

I'm a full time pharmacy student, about to graduate in 5 months (finally! after 7 yrs of  school!!!)  and work part time at a pharmacy too. FH is a software developer at Intel.  Wedding planning was fun, but recently got moved to the back burner when i started applying to residency programs.

yay for you tunatuna, that's a big accomplishment. I would know as my husband is studying day in and day out as he is in Pharmacy too. Still has a ways to go though! 3 more years!

I am a Site Administrator, for  EllisDon a large Construction company. (you may have herd of them before) It's fun I get to be on site, amongst all the chaos. lol but I like it! The only down fall is that I work with 300 men so at times it can be trying to say the least. I work 10 hour days (if I am lucky)_ so when I have a spare moment, (like on my lunch) I will jump on and get a few things done... and I try to do alot of planning on the weekends. But I am now T-6 months so I'm sure my planning will be coming to an end soon enough! : )

It is good to know there are other students/working brides out there. It makes me feel like wedding planning will be possible after all, once semester starts. I will graduate this summer before we get married. My major is public relations. This semester, I will be working at an awesome internship I landed at my university; I also work in a photo lab on the weekends, and go to school full time. I will take the student mask off at night and become my own wedding planner. It seems like a big load, but all you wonderful brides and wives have done it or are doing it, and give the rest of us inspiration all the time to continue to do it. It was nice to hear what everyone does.

I am a director at university and am working on for my Masters in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Computer Forensics. My job is super flexible and understanding, so I do a lot of wedding stuff (and school assignments) at work! haha. Hence, why I am on this site at 2:00 in the afternoon on a Monday!

I am a stay at home mom to three ages 2,6,8 ,also going to school part time through a online program so I can study when it's nape time.
My FH works at a car dealership from 7am-6pm then every other Saturday also, working out the daycare arrangements how will he pick them up in his truck and ect, it's works better that I stay home right now

I am a Family and Consumer Science Teacher (aka Home Ec.) I teach at a High School to five different classes.  I have no time at work to plan a wedding because I have to plan for my classes. I teach sewing 1 and 2, Child Development 1 and 2, and Interior design which keeps me busy. As for wedding planning thats why I have my best friend my mom. She has some of the best ideas and I usually like them so it is a major help.  Plus I don't live in my hometown any more and she is able to go and do things.  She is very creative and we together can usually get a lot done.  Its so much fun and I am not to stressed out yet.

I work fulltime for two sister companies as a pesonal assistant that deal with exporting with exporting woodchips to japan, I also work as a bar manager for the local nightclub on friday, saturday,
My day job is very flexible, they let me do wedding stuff as long as i get my other work done and my work at the nightclub is extremely trouble free and flexible.

I get alot of work done on wedding stuff during the weeknight. its really the only time and if i get up really early saturday morning.
