Not sure how many of you have thought of your something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue traditions yet? I didn't know until I receieved my own sixpence from a girlfriend that it was also part of the tradition that follows after "something blue - and a lucky sixpence in her shoe!" I really liked the idea out of all of them because the sixpence has sentimental value because of it's history and that it is suppose to be passed down to your daughter for her wedding day. I really loved the idea alot thus it inspired me to pass on this tradition and give brides something customizeable for their very own wedding day. Not only are they great to purchase for your wedding day, it can then be passed down to your daughter as their "something old" or borrowed to a family member or close girlfriend as their "something borrowed" or simply purchased as a shower gift or wedding day gift for another bride. Often you will see them glued to the bottom of the brides shoe or tucked into the sole. It makes a great picture if your photographer pays attention to close details, just don't forget to mention it to them. You can one day show your daughter the picture and hopefully you can pass on a wonderful tradition for many generations to come.

If anyone is interested, I have posted a selction of my cards in my shop. Each card is handcfted with premium scarpbooking supplies. If you do not see one you already love or fits your theme, contact me (via conversations) and I may be able to create one for you in yours or a friends wedding colors based on supplies I have. Each card comes with an authentic sixpence staright from Europe that is easily removeable so that it can be put into or fastened/glued onto your shoe. The back of each card has the history of the sixpence in poem form. Each card is also neatly sealed in a resealable cello bag. The sixpence can be later stored in your scrapbook back on it's customized card or photo album. Below is a pretty Red & Black Lace card that can be found among the many in my shop.
