The Surprise Bridal Shower
Hosted by my Bridesmaids

I just realized that I never did share or add any of my wedding shower pictures or even mention it on my blog. I came across my pictures yesterday and was remembering how much fun it was to be with all the people that are important to me in my life!

I was spolied with two wedding showers, one put on by my beautiful bridesmaids and one in the small town country (where my husband is from) by my mother and sister in law. I DID know about the bridal shower being put on by my inlwas, however my sneaky bridesmaids had planned a secret bridal shower for me. So form "The Surprise Bridal Shower," I will share with you some of that day from my surprise bridal shower.

Seen here below, my Maid of Honor sent me a FAKE invitation to my own bridal shower that was for a week later than the real date. Her work tends to throw monthly get togethers where you can bring a friend or family member to do group activites like cooking lessons followed by dinner, car ralley's etc. so she had convinced me that the day of my REAL bridal shower I would be meeting her at her place and we'd be going out for cooking lessons followed by a nice dinner with her work. She even sent me a convincing email forwarded to me from her job which was was a legitimate email explaining the details of the night but for the next month - Tania had changed the date on it before fowarding it to me!

Let's just say I realized that day that I don't really like being surprised or caught of guard lol! As I made my way to her place for 5:00 pm. on the Saturday I had absolutely no inclination what-so-ever! When I walked through that door and a bunch of friends and family yelled "SURPRISE!" I almost peed myself! It literally took me over an hour to calm down, I was a bit flustered (in a good way), but I was mumbling a lot, shaky, and just down right out of it as I had been pretty surprised.

Once I finally got ever the feeling, we had a great time. We played games, had a lot of great food my bridemsaid baked or made. From cute cupcakes my MOH made and decorated after taking a wilson cake course, to fresh fudge, cheescakes, little dainty sandwiches etc! It was wonderful. The decor was beautiful as well in Teal, White, and Black (I love those colors).

I will let you in on a little secret, I really am not crazy about receiving gifts, I LOVE giving them more than I like receiving. In fact what I dislike even more is opening presents in front of people. I have this social phobia of opening up them up in front of people and even when they're from my family. We did have many wonderful gifts given to us that we are really happy to have gotten but I was dreading the opening gifts part. My hands were shaking and I was utterly and completely nervous for the first half hour of opening presents. I drank a few extra glasses of wine to feel better and loosen up (TAKE NOT OF THE EMPTY GLASS BESIDE ME IN PICTURE BELOW bahaha). It definitely helped and by the end I was having more fun with it!

My mom is completely awesome, half way through opening gifts Christopher showed up and my mom saved a gift for the end saying that it was unfair that I was getting to open up presents that he probably wasn't too interested in - so she bought one that was PERFECTLY fit to something he'd have interest in. I opened it up to find three sets of lingerie for our honeymoon, and the pictures are priceless! lol Lets just say Chris was very happy with those gifts and his interest perked up! lol.

OH, and one last detail to share that I think you ladies will like. My one bridesmaid Kiera bought a scrapbook and had a station set up with tonnes of emblishments, glue sticks, pens, scrapbooking supplies etc so that all my friends and family could add a picture of them and I they were told to bring and write something memorable in it! It was really sweet and a great keepsake!
