Hey Ladies ... finally some time to tell you all about the exciting day.
The best way to explain the experience was like being Carrie Bradshaw in the wedding dress shoot from the Sex and the City movie. Although I only had one dress to wear (a beautiful one) there were so many vendors with amazing flowers, jewelery, decor, desserts and so much more. I was in wedding overload!
I arrived at the beautiful Fort Garry Hotel (You have to check out the gallery to see how beautiful this historical hotel is) at noon on Wednesday and found a sign outside the elevator that said "Wedding Fashion Shoot - 7th floor." I immediately began to feel butterflies in my stomach from the excitement and nervousness. I entered the elevator held my breath and travelled up slowly, when the doors opened I found myself on the most beuatiful floor of the hotel filled with amazing high ceilings, chandeliers, roman pillars, beautiful drapery, huge victorian windows, filled with endless amounts of character and vintage detailing made for royalty!

In the center of the hallway I almost passed out when I saw the first Vintage Charm set. The table, decor, and wedding cake was so unbelievable I can't even explain. Only pictures can explain the beauty I was face to face with. There were photographers with the fancy hot box lights like shown in my post picture and photographers and videographers working with the vintage bride. It was very serious like a professional model job and very high fashion like. They instructed her to do certain poses and looks. She had Trevor Brucki one of the most successful photographers in the city, so he was very business and less emotional about it all.
I spent about 3 hours walking around the beautiful sets with my photographer discussing possible shots aside from my Garden Romance set and checking out all the beautiful details of the hotels 7th floor. We watched some of the other photographers do their thing to get inspiration and ideas.
Unfortunately I was not allowed to take any pictures because of privacy reasons and the chance that one may release pictures to the public or other magazines or vendors (even with my crappy $200 camera). I was soooooooo sad about this! I will only have pictures once they are released which may be a long ways away. I will be sure to post them when they are available to me.
Finally it was my turn to get ready for my shoot. I had my hair done exactly the same way as my wedding day as that is how Rebecca invisioned it for the Garden Romance set. However it turned out a million times better which was awesome but sad that it looked so much better for this day than my own wedding. The girls followed my tips on flat iron curling my hair and it looked AMAZINGLY romantic and curly. I then had my make up done which also turned out much better than on my own wedidng day. It was literally flawless!
And next ... GASP .... oh my god ... the JEWELRY!
The lady handed me this beautiful huge vintage style ring that I absoluetly fell in LOVE with. I contimplated on running for the nearest exit right then and there however, the lady had my ring (with my great grandma's diamond) so I couldn't LOL! I was also given beautiful vintage earings and a necklace to wear for the shoot. Even though I normally don't wear necklaces ... it was beautiful non-the-less. I couldn't stop looking at the ring - just like when you're first engaged. I then got to slip into my beautiful dress and was handed the longest veil you have ever seen ever!!!!! It was two times the entire length of my dress. It was beautiful but insanely long! Everyone loved my dress the best and kept walking by and gasping. I will post pictures in my next post. The worst part was that in all the thousands of dollars that went into everything they never had the dresses altered and it fit my hips and mid section perefctly but was too big in the boobs. It was falling off everytime i moved as we only got plastic clips to tighten the back. It was horrible!
My set was pretty, my least favorite of the 5 sets but still pretty by every means. My photographer choose it because it was in this seperate room with huge vitorian windows and she specializes in natural lighting shots. It was a lot tougher to be a 'bride model' than I could have ever imagined! Most of the shots were suppose to be more high fashion rather than commercial. My straight white teeth which are my best asset could not be used lol so I felt screwed. Frankly I feel like i look like a miserable witch when I can't smile. LOL So I am very scrared to see the shots or if they can find just one out of the hundreds we took LOL I took pictures for almost two hours and a hlaf hours and was exhausted from contorting my body in different positions in heels and trying to hold me dress up for the pictures.
Anyways, I know this is so long but it was just so amazing I could go on forever. It was like a dream really! I spent 8 hours at the hotel watching all the photographers do there shots, set up of the themes and tear downb of everything. I made some contacts and met some great people (maybe useful in the future). I will post the dress seperately (which I sneaked some real pictures of in the change room), the ring, and some blurry pictures of my Garden Romance set that I also managed to sneak a few pictures of before it was fully set up.
I wish I could have taken so many pictures to give you ladies inspirations. As soon as I have pictures to share from the actual sets i will share share share with you. I will be posting dress pictures soon!
