Ask a Question
{Did you Have a Say?}
Hey ladies, so because I still get newfeeds from wedding sites, magazines, blogs etc from when I joined whilst planning my own wedding, I sometimes get great posts or questions that intrigue me and inspire me to share and ask you ladies.

So this is a very fun one ... HOW MANY OF YOU HAD A SMALL SAY OR INPUT ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT RING?

I always dreamt of the fairy-tale proposal in which I had absolutely NO idea it was coming and that Mr. prince charming picked the prefect ring that I was crazy head over heels for. Well when Christopher and I finally started tip toeing around the subject of marriage { after almost 6 years of being together}, my prince charming brought me down to reality and said "hunny, I love you every much and would love nothing more than to give you the most unexpected perfect ring ever, but lets face it you may be one of the most indecisive woman I know when it comes to that department and I really don't want to get it wrong!"

Boy was he ever right, here and there while in the mall we'd pop into a jeweler store to take a peeksy at what might interest me. I knew this much ... I really wanted something simple and dainty. For some reason I thought 3 diamonds {the past,present, future kind} in princess cut was what fit that description. Lets just say it was certainly a good thing we looked around because in the end I realized that the three set diamond ring was a little more showy than I wanted and I learned that I loved the brilliant cut {because it shimmers more in the light}, and a preferred a single solitaire set ring on a small dainty band. So as you can see ladies, that is WAY off from the original dream ring I thought I wanted. Not to say that those particular styles are ugly, but on my long thing gangly fingers a thing band and simple solitaire just seemed so right! In the end the proposal as was the ring a complete surprise, and Mr. prince charming proposed with a beautiful solitaire ring in a custom made band and well the rest is history. So yes, I guess i can say I had some input in my ring!

So how about you ladies, did you have some say or was a complete surprise that ended in a happy story?

SWEETEST PERFECTION::
{Kiss the Groom}
After all this is a wedding blog right - a place to share what little girls wedding dreams are made of, correct ?!?! I had to share this beautiful image with you girls cause I haven't been able to sleep right since lol- it makes me want to get married all over again! Swoon ...

This stunning image of absolute & complete {PERFECTION} was taken by the talented and most beautiful Elizabeth Messina creator and photographer of Kiss the Groom. Elizabeth manages to tug on my every heart string with each image she captures! She is truly what does and will inspire if I ever do have the means to pursue my love for photography.

Everything in this picture is stunning perfection for me, from the gorgeous backless dress and vintage applique detailing. The natural make-up and softly curled hair falling perfectly exuding nothing less than soft sweet romance. And the groom, well he's just simply plain old adorable with his shadow stubbled face and amazing grey suit and skinny tie.

Please tell me this picture leaves you drooling equally as much as it does me?! It's honestly one of my favourite images i have ever seen. I loved my wedding dress, but dear lord, why hadn't this picture existed when I was looking for dresses!

Anyways, if you have NOT already checked out Elizabeth Messina's beautiful work, you need to go now! Kiss the Groom Oh and the bonus you get to make a pretty kissing tree with yours and your husband-to-be's names and date!

Pretty as a Peacock
Boutonnieres, Hair Fascinators & Corsages Oh My!

I just wanted to share my excitement of my latest bridal project with you all. I always love coming to you girls to share something I have created and am super proud about the turn out. I have been working with a fellow bride to design what started out as just a boutonniere set {no problem}, then hair pieces for her bridesmaids {a little sweat dripping from the brow}, and now possibly corsages {oh me oh my} for the mother of the bride and future mother-in-law. I think they have turned out super pretty, no doubt, being in the stunning colors of jewel tones, silver, and accents of fuchsia which make one gorgeous peacock wedding theme!  I am so happy with the turn out because I really wanted to just stick to boutonniere designing, but I pushed the envelope a bit and surprised even myself with the clips and the corsage which I think {which may just be my opinion} turned out so pretty!

Anyways, here is the original set of boutonnieres for the groomsmen.

The matching hair fascinators for each bridesmaids

Finally, the matching wrist corsages for the mother of the bride and the future mother-in-law

I hope everyone thinks they turned out as pretty as I think they did, thanks for taking a looksy! Happy planning you all and welcome to all the newest brides here ;)

Bridesmaids Cards
{Will you be my Bridesmaid?}
Lyndsay Smoak says it perfectly!

Your bridesmaids are your closest friends and family… your sister, your college roommate, your childhood playmate and your sorority sister.

Because you could not imagine getting married without them by your side, you want to ask them to be a bridesmaid in your wedding. If you can, it is thoughtful to ask your friends and family to be a bridesmaid in a special and creative way. They will all love the fact that you took the time to ask them to be a bridesmaid!

When I first got engaged it was ubber tough to keep from blurting out "I NEED you to be my bridesmaid!!!!!" the minute I saw my girls. I may admit there was some slight innuendo, but I really wanted to officially ask my girls in a more thoughtful way than simply blurting it out as though I was plagued with turrets syndrome. I found some lovely cards and even DIYed the last one with individual messages for each girl. They were all very surprised {especially my Maid of Honor} as I hid them in their homes to discover or surprised them by mailing them out. Who doesn't love being surprised with something a lot more exciting than bills?!?!?

Since the beginning of opening my own Etsy shop {which has almost reached it's one year birthday}, I wanted to be able to offer other brides-to-be a thoughtful way to ask their girls to share their special day.

You can visit {MON AMOUR BOUTIQUE} if you are looking for just that - a thoughtful card that asks her to share your special day or even thank her. I create each and every card with as much love and creativity as I would in making them for my own girls. They can be personalized to each bridesmaid and created in your wedding colors, style, or theme. To get ideas of what can be created for you, feel free to check out the feedback section to view various sets of cards designed for other brides.

This is just one option, and there are so many other creative ways to ask your bridesmaids to be in your wedding… what are some of your favorites?

MERRY CHRISTMAS
{Hope you've got your Stockings Hung}
Hey ladies, just wanted to pop in and wish you all a wonderful Christmas or a Happy Holidays for those who don't celebrate Christmas. I hope the the next few days will bring some much needed relaxation, laughter, and happiness with those you love!

Christmas is probably my favourite time of year, although apart from my husband {as he goes to the country to spend time with his family}, I really do enjoy spending time with my family. My side of the family is funny because we have our 'de la Lande' family traditions that we stick to ever year and I can truly say I always look forward to this every year.

Anyways, I hope that your Holidays are merry and your New Year is brings much health and happiness to you and your families. All the best for 2011 ladies! xoxoxoxoxo
P.S. How adorable is this picture post ... I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the little bum hanging out ... simply precious!

ETSY
{Real Etsy Weddings}
Hello lovely {WBC} ladies… I hope this post finds you all in good health, excited for the holidays, and doing well with all your planning!

I know that the holidays seems to be a very popular and exciting time for couples to get engaged, and I have noticed on the few occasions that I do pop in that there have been many new additions to our {WBC} family. So welcome and congratulations to any new members from a {WBC} veteran bride!

I just thought I’d share with you ladies a wonderful site that will rock your word! Seriously it’ll change your life for the better, well at least while wedding planning that is ;) You may have come across other brides posts about items they purchased on {ETSY}. If you have been curious and haven’t already check it out, you need to do so asap. Etsy is a wonderful online marketplace where one can find beautifully handcrafted wedding items that are unique and not like your average mass-produced wedding items. You can find anything from custom invitations, garters, personalized wedding hangers, card boxes, and more. Now here’s the best part; if you don’t see something in your colors most Etsy sellers will work with you to customize exactly what you want! The communication is great and the sellers really love making unique items.

While I was planning my own wedding I flirted with the idea of checking out the site. Once I took the plunge, the hook was set and I just couldn’t get enough. I purchased many customized items for my wedding day, and now with the wedding come and gone, I now own my very own lovely Etsy shop! I also shop for non-wedding related items to find unique gifts for others. So I definitely think it’s worthwhile checking it out if you aren’t already familiar with this marketplace.

Andrea, a former Etsy seller now host a wonderful site called {Real Etsy Weddings}. The site is a wedding blog that features “real life” weddings that brides have planned using and incorporating unique Etsy items on their big day. Andrea also feature Etsy shop and sellers that create and sell unique wedding items. It just so happens that my wedding was featured a while back and as well today my own Etsy shop is being featured! To check it my Etsy shop feature {CLICK HERE}.

So while planning your wedding, keep in mind Etsy and promoting local artists and businesses. In doing so, you might also be able to submit your very own wedding pictures to be featured on Andrea’s “Etsy Real Weddings” blog if you have included lovely Etsy items into your wedding day! Why not support locals and have your wedding featured to inspire other brides planning their weddings!

{Retro Vintage Pretty}
Another addition to the shoppe!
Just wanted to share another pretty kinda retro inspired addition that I will be adding to my Etsy boutonniere shop {MON AMOUR PLUMAGE}.

I really {LOVE} the feel to these ones ... so they are just so darn pretty! I think these would look awesome on a grooms lapel along with his groomsmen. It's both chic and masculine. If anyone happens to like these or may be interested in a set you can contact me in my Etsy shop :)

And now back to work as I have about two days worth of boutonniere, wrist corsages, and hair accessories to make! Eeeiiiikkkk, that's a lot of crafting to do! One bride alone has 16 wedding party members!!!! i was in shock when she said "i'll be needing 16 of those!" Lol Wish me luck! My poor little fingers are going to be raw from glue gun burns thats for sure!

Hope all is well with you busy bee's and welcome to any of the new brides I may have missed!
