SNEEK PEAK
![]() Good afternoon WBC brides, I just wanted to share these quickly before the weekend begins. I came home late last night to find a nice little surprise on our photographers website. These are just the few SNEAK PEEKS I found in Rebecca Whitneys Coming Soon
photo album. From these few photos she posted, I think I am going to be really happy with them. I really love the first photo with the parasol its so adorable and really adds the perfect little prop to this scene. The water actually looks much more beautiful than I was expecting; in person I think it looks somewhat brownish close-up which made me nervous for the pictures. The only thing that was difficult was the fact that is was SUPER windy. Thus you can tell my hair looks a little messy in some pictures. My veil kept blowing up in the wind which was a bit of a pain for both Christopher and I, but otherwise it was really great evening; the weather and temperature was absolutely perfect, and the old birch piers were so beautiful the way they extended out into the water. All in all, the shoot with Rebecca was great as it always and the location was absolutely beautiful. It was nice to be in a relaxed state of mind and it being just the two of us like our engagement pictures. Christopher and I prefer the candid photos when we are doing whatever comes natural as opposed to more posed photos like our wedding day pictures. I cant wait to see more and share with you girls. There should be some neat ones with us right in the water that I am excited to see! My dress was really dirty and lots of debris was caught in the netting by the end of the shoot which caused me initially regret going in the water. However, I did manage to get it clean after almost two hours or more in our shower and it looks perfect again. I think we may finally have a frame worthy picture or two for our house, as we havent put up any from the wedding. Anyways, hope you like them more to share hopefully soon! |

New WBC Addition
Thumbs up?
![]() I just wanted to give the WBC team a little shout out. The reason being is that I think its important to recognize a job well done when it's deserved. I know in the past their have been posts about complaints and issues that brides have had with the WBC team such as advertisements and spam email. Even though they can be extremely frustrating which I totally agree with, the posts are often very animated and really negative directly toward the WBC team. I just wanted to throw out a post that is positively encouraging and thanking them for their great work! For a completely FREE website, I think the WBC team has been doing a great job and I know that I speak for myself and a lot of other brides here when I say that we really love having somewhere to come and share our ideas and communicate with other ladies. With this said I wanted to point out a new feature that WBC team has added to the Wedding by Color blog that some of you may have or may not have noticed yet. If you look at the bottom of each blog you will find a new section that includes ... (a) "Hot Topics" - popular topics or issues that brides are discussing on their blogs that day/week. (b) "You May Also Like" - Related categories or items to the blog you are reading. Thus if it is a blog about cakes it lists a few other blogs discussing cakes etc. and finally, the best part (at least I seem to think) ... (c) "[Insert brides name here ex. Aimee114's] Other Posts" - this area shows a few other posts from that brides blog you are reading. I really like the last one (c) because I truly feel it's a great way for brides to check out more of that brides blog they are reading. Instead of just quickly reading a post and moving on forgetting that bride, by clicking on some more of their blog we may come across something memorable that helps us to remember that bride better. Thus, I think it will encourage brides to spend a little more reading more of each others blogs, and finding we may have something in common ex. wedding theme, family woes etc, which may in turn create all of us to become more familiar with each other and form closer friendships. I am in a rush so this is very poorly worded I am sure ... anyways. So, I am now wondering how many of you have actually noticed this feature? If you have noticed it, do you also think it's a thumbs up for the WBC team? For those of you who are just learning about it, scroll down and check it out and tell us what you think? |

Labor Day
Enjoying this Extra day off to Relax or catch up?
![]() Hey ladies, even though I am not a bride anymore planning a big wedding event, I sure do appreciate this extra day just to relax and catch up! I am sure there must be some of my fellow brides who are also enjoying this extra day off. It simply means there is either more time to spend with the hunny, extra time to catch up on DIY's that have been long haunting you lol or just catching up on some R & R for yourself maybe after a wedding?! Anyways, wishing you all a happy Monday and a happy Labor Day ... thank goodness for holidays just when we could use them ;) |

Royal Affair
Peacock Boutonnieres
![]() Although I am not doing boutonnieres full time right now, I do have some supplies here and there that allow me to create some pretty boutonnieres. With that said, I just wanted to share a boutonniere that is available to any brides doing a peacock theme. I have the supplies to make enough for up to TWELVE groomsmen and ONE groom. If you are also doing fuchsia with your peacock theme, I can certainly incorporate some pink ribbon in these for that extra accent color. These will be on a first come first serve basis if anyone here does become interested in them. Normally I would list these in my Etsy shop for $13.00 a piece, but if they are going to be made for one of my WBC ladies, I will give them to you at a cost of $10.00 a boutonniere plus shipping. Hopefully these boutonnieres find a good home as the colors are pretty and so royal looking, perfect for a peacock themed royal affair. Thanks for taking a peek, comments are welcomed! |

Boutonniere
![]() Hey ladies, just got back from our little one year anniversary mini moon from the West. I'll share some pictures soon. I just wanted to share this boutonniere I handcrafted for the beach photo shoot we did last week before we left. I made it from items and crafts I had kicking around the house, not one thing was bought for this boutonniere. I used this inspiration photo below, although not a couture as the one in the picture below, it has some similarity. I think it turned out really pretty and has such a romantic vintage feel to it! Now I am not quite sure what I am going to do with it other than admire it every time I walk past it in the house lol I really wish I had done something like these instead of real flower boutonnieres for the boys on our wedding day! I just love making them. What do you ladies think ... cute? I can't wait to see what it looks like in the pictures. |

Building WBC Friendships
... the key to comments!
![]() I really wanted to share this post in hopes to ease the minds of some of the newer brides that have recently been leaving posts about not receiving comments on their blogs. Firstly, I want to welcome all of the newer brides-to-be to your new extended WBC family. I (along with other long time members) normally try and welcome everyone when they join the site. Lately, I will admit I have been MIA as I am back to work and my second job, my Etsy shop has been keeping uber busy. Also, I have been leaving quick commentss without signing in and now that I see Rhona's post I can see why some of you may not have been getting them. Dammit! lol Anyways, I just want to let you ladies know that this site is amazing and there are alot of great girls here that offer so much support and ideas, so don't give up hope or get discouraged! Although it may seem at the moment like you are hardly ever receiving comments (which I know can be dissapointing), in time you will see that over a few short months you will begin to develop new relationships with brides alike to your theme, color, or style and your support system will beging to grow. I think I speak for a lot of the "popular" brides on here when we say it was once us. In fact, just recetly I shared a post about mines and my husbands one year anniversary and 98 people have viewed it and only 3 people originally left comments. So there you have it, it happens to a lot of us :) I think that this post should serve two purposes ... one, to introduce ourselves (user name) or even a little sentence and your theme or colors for the wedding. This way anyone reading this can see right away wether you will be of interest to them based on similar wedding ideas and colors. Secondly, this post should serve as a sisterhood pact (one that is done every few months) that if we open someones post, we should really try to make the effort to write at the very least a little something. We all love sharing our ideas, projects, and tribulations etc with eachother since heck, no one else usually wants to listen to us when it comes to weddings. lol So girls lets try to take that extra moment and share a thought or simply make some new connections, your one small action will make touch and make at least one happy bride-to-be! |

Anniversary Recap
What an amazing day and a surprise!
![]() WARNING ......... THIS MAY BE REALLY LONG BUT SOMETHING I WANT TO SHARE WITH MY WBC GALS! So here it goes, what to say other than what a WONDERFUL first wedding anniversary we shared yesterday! As mentioned in yesterdays post, I woke up to a card with a very sweet heartfelt note left in it (see previous post if your interested in what it said). Christopher's such a sweetheart and always makes me feel so lucky to be with him ... I really believe he just may be one in a million. Anyways, we started are day off with a late breakfast at our favorite little breakfast nook "Cora's." We shared (as always) our favorite meal ... a classic eggs benedict. We always share because the portions are huge and you get a tone of fresh fruit displayed on the plate like artistry. Yum yum! I finished off the rest of his boutonniere for the photo shoot in the afternoon which turned out so pretty and vintage looking. I'll share it with you girls soon! We then got ready and packed our stuff into the car for the shoot. We were going to be picking up Rebecca to make the hour drive out to the beach. Before we left I gave Christopher his card and his gift. I was actually surprised with a gift too but a few days earlier! Christopher was sweet enough to replace my original wedding band with a new one. I had mentioned to him about 6 months after the wedding that I was thinking I may want to replace mine. My original band had begun to give me a horrible rash daily if I wore it all the time and thus I hardly ever wore it. I I also had never really loved it much as the jeweler deisgned it way too thick and insisted on putting in larger diamonds than I wanted. I didn't have the you know what to tell him I didn't like the wax mould and was then stuck with the band which HAD to be custom made to fit my custom made engagement ring. It was a frustarting process to say the least. Because it was custom designed to fit my solitaire engagement ring, it had a really akward shape and looked horribly silly if worn alone not to mention it always spun around on my finger and the sharper points poked me all the time on my rashed finger. So with all those troubles I was eventually hoping to find somehting more dainty and smaller and Christopher totally understood. He didn't spend a terrible amount on it for those of you thinking i'm pretty spoiled. I also work a job in which I can't just wear my engagement ring to work because I am too afraid to loose the diamond or break my band. So I almost never wore any rings to symbolize or show that I was married. It was so wonderful of him to replace it and understand that it was important for me to wear something. I absolutely LOVE this new band and it is so small and thin it'll be perfect to wear at work by itself. Anyways, I took this picture of the new band with my engagement ring. Everything looks much bigger than it is as my camera was on Macro to get a crisp picture of the band. What I love most is that it is thin and dainty. It s a "claw" setting that gives it a slight vinatge feel which I am in love with and best of all I can ALWAYS wear it and show i'm a married woman. Anyways, onto the rest of our day - we drove to the beach with our photographer which was really great company. We really like her a lot and spending time with her is like spending time with a friend! It took us a while to find the right road where the piers were were looking for are more hidden. They are beautiful old wooden birch piers that extended out into the water and overlook the neverending horizon. We shot for about 2 hours which seemed to fly by like nothing. We were having so much fun and I can't even explain to you girls how beautiful it was there. It was our first time and I definitely know we'll be going back for some long walks and picnics on the beach. We took Rebecca out for dinner at the fanciest little restaurant in the little town. The food wasn't so great but chatting and enjoying each others company was good enough. We didn't get home until almost 11:00 p.m. and were pooped after a long day. I can't wait to see the pictures and share some of them with you girls! We may have some framable ones since we still haven't put any up from the wedding lol! Anyways thanks for reading if you're still around |

Happy Anniversary
Our first year as Husband and Wife!
![]() Goodness gracious ladies, one year ago today at this time I would just be leaving the hairdressers studio with my girls all giddy and nervous in anticipation to marry my best friend! It gives me little butterflies thinking about how excited I was and all the excitement and anticipation for such a big day. It was truly one of the best days of my life with all my family and friends there to witness our vows to one another. One year past and Christopher and I are still happily in love and still bestest of friends. Although not much has changed since before the wedding, a level of commitment and unity has strengthened and it feels amazing to know that this will be there person I spend my life with and that I CHOOSE to be with him and he with me. I am looking forward to all of your big firsts together - house, career, dogs, travel, kids and more. Anyways, I just wanted to share with you something small that my wonderful husband left for me this morning. Simple things like this is what makes me feel confident I found someone special and am one lucky girl. This letter was left for me to find this morning on the lap top ... "Aimee, There are very few things in life that i know to be certain. But what I do know is that my life is infinitely greater loving you. i want you to know that no matter what happens in life, I will always have your back - i will support you - I will always be there for you. i am so happy to call you my wife, and am looking forward to so many amazing firsts with you in the years to come (kids, dog, house, travel etc.) Although we've been together some time now, I think our journey is really just beginning. I think it's fair to say we are both starting to discover the real "us" - who we are, and what we can become. It goes without saying that I love you - I love you - I love you! You are without a doubt the best part of everyday, and i still look forward to the moments right before I know I will get to see you! Happy 1 Year Anniversary! Always and Forever, Christopher" Too sweet, he got me all teary eyed when I read this! Anyways, very soon we will be going to our favorite place for breakfast and then we will get ready to do our fun photo shoot with our photographer on the beach. I am kind of excited ... I have a little gift for him too, but I'll share that in the next post. I better get myself ready .... he's laughing at me because i'm on here! Have a wonderful day ladies! |

Ask a Question
How much is in yours?
![]() So I heard a statistic today on the radio that was absoluetly stunning to me when I initially heard it. As I drove in disbelief thinking it couldn't be so, I got thinkin and realized holy crap ... maybe that does seem right! I know I got you curious now ladies, so here it is ... tell me what you think and if you fall within this average? Statistic: The average woman's purse and it's contents within it equal to roughly $514 dollars! Isn't this crazy?! At first I thought it was completely unreasonable but when I started thinking about mine I realized my contents within it on average are about this much and some days more. I always carry a small amounts of make-up, and fancy little hand lotions or sanitizer's (like Cashmere from Bath & Body), sometimes my iPod and camera, my phone, small bottle of body spray or perfume, id, and so much more. Reminds me that I better watch out for my purse and be extra careful, $514 dollars is a lot of money to have to replace the many items within it! |

DIY Wedding
Need your opinions PRETTY PLEASE!
![]() Ok, firstly let me just say it was a pain in the ass taking these pictures! Seriously ... I hate taking pictures in a mirror and never do it thus I really suck at it! LOL I kept getting great pictures of my bathroom door, washer and dryer more than of my birdcage veil. Anyways, here it is ... it sure took me a long time to try and get the shape I wanted. Still not sure I am absoluetly sold on this exact shape, but I had ordered a piece of french netting that came as a long rectangle rather than a large square. I had practiced on some cheap netting a while back that was square and got the right shape as I found a template for cutting it to make it the way I wanted. However, this rectangle netting really threw me for a loop and only had one piece to get it right. So I need your opinions ... the first pictures has some netting coming off to the side. It is kinda similar to the style I posted in my last post about attempting my veil. The second picture there is no netting off the side. Which look do you like better? I'd really appreciate your opinions ... thanks in advance! |
