TODAY IS THE DAY!!!
See you guys on the flip side! :)
Well, I'm up and ready! In a few minutes I am going to attempt to wake up my soon-to-be step-daughter and not-so-perky-in-the-morning daughter and we are going to go get our hair and make-up done, and head to the church!! I am very much excited about marrying the love of my life though...he seems very nervous!! He is not one to get up in front of people and speak!! I hope everything goes smoothly today though ..rehearsal last night was kind of chaotic. In all actuality I can NOT wait til this day is over!!!!! Then we will be in Maui in a few days, and then my life will be back to "normal."
Can't wait to share some pictures with you guys! See you on the flip side!!!!! :D |

Wedding Hair Style
My hair trial!
I had my hair trial today, and I was very pleased with the result! I didn't have an exact style in mind...I just knew I wanted it up, with my tiara, and some hair kind of "swooped" across my forehead (my hairline is awful!) She seemed to know exactly what to do, and whipped it up in about 45 minutes!! So glad I picked this lady....

How long will you and your FH be engaged??
How long was/is your engagement?? If it was a short engagement, did you think that you had enough time to get everything done, or were you stressing at the last minute??
My FH and I's engagement will have lasted a little over 6 months when we get married next weekend!! I worked diligently and I got everything done that I need to have done (so far), but I'm still feeling a LITTLE stressed! |

Countdown
10 days left!!
With only 10 days left, I'm feeling surprisingly confident in my DIY projects! The only things I have left to do are finish my programs and pew bows. Everything else = DONE!!! (Gosh, I hope I'm not overlooking anything!!) Minus the occasional "wedding nightmares" here and there, I am feeling pretty calm.
Any other October 24th brides out there?? How are you guys feeling?? Do you feel like you on track with your wedding stuff, or falling way behind?? |

FH's step mother just called me to tell me that the bouquets are all done!!! I love them...they are exactly what I wanted! :)

Wedding Decoration
Centerpieces...FINALLY done!
OMG I had the worst time ever trying to figure out some centerpieces! I am having long, rectangular tables, instead of round tables (which are MUCH easier to put centerpieces on) and I wanted something long, instead of tall.
FH found these long glass tube things at Crafts 2000 and we ordered a whole box of them. They each hold 5 votive candles. I put those black glass gem things in each one and sealed the ends with clear plastic and put a fuchsia ribbon around the edge of each one. We have a larger one for the head table, I think it holds 7 candles. Each table will have a black tablecloth with a fuchsia runner down it, with these in the middle. I hope it looks good in the end! :) |

Bridesmaids
DIY Flip Flops!
I just got finished with my bridesmaids' (and jr. bridesmaid and flowergirl's) flip flops for their gift bags!
I bought some packs of flip flop embellishments at Crafts 2000 for $1 and then I got the flip flops at Walmart for $1!!! They were REALLY easy to make -- the flowers just clipped on and the rhinestones are on a strip that was really easy to apply! Probably took me about half an hour to do all these. I thought the flowers looked like my gerbera daisies too! Can't beat a $2 gift! :) |

Make-up
Had my make-up trial run today!
One of my bridesmaids (FH's sister) and I went to Clinique today and had our trial for our make-up!!
She went first and they did an AWESOME job on her! They matched her colors perfectly, and the lipstick was right on! She is one that breaks out if you just look at her, so it was important for us to have a trial for her. She hasn't had any problems! yay I went next and I was totally impressed with how the Clinique lady made the dark circles under my eyes disappear! I've tried for years, and she did it! My eyes seemed much brighter when she was done. I was happy with the way things turned out and now that's taken care of, on to the next thing. lol What do you think? (Don't mind my mess of a hair-do! I just threw it up so I could get my make-up done! lol) |

ONLY 20 DAYS TO GO!!!!
Man, when they say time flies they aren't lying!!
With 20 days to go my list of to-do's is getting shorter and shorter! Here's what I have left: finish centerpieces (about 1/2 done) attach rhinestones and daisies to flip flops finish pew bows (about 1/2 done) attach black/fuchsia satin to guest book etch kids' names on their special glasses take ribbon and cake topper to cake lady meet with photographer finish programs WHEW!! I need to get busy! Good thing I'm off work tomorrow! BTW--I'm having my make-up trial tomorrow!! I can't wait!! |

Reception food
OMG -- NO Caterer w/23 days to go?!
Well this isn't good....
FH's mother was supposed to come up about a week before our wedding and buy and prepare the dinner for our reception (with the help of my grandmother). She lives in Florida and we live in Ohio, so FH has tried calling her for weeks with no answer! Finally, today I had FH's sister call and see what the heck was up?? FMIL told FH's sister that she was struggling with money and didn't think she was going to be able to make it up here for our weddinggggg!!!!!!!!................. Not only are there 23 days until the wedding but we don't have money set back for a caterer because she was supposed to buy the food!!! My grandmother can't do everything, but can still help with some stuff. I can just say that I could have TOTALLY done without this added stress so close to my wedding... Uhhh....OK? Does anyone have any QUICK, INEXPENSIVE suggestions for us??!! We are desparate at this point.... |
