Make several mini bundles of flowers (hand tie the stems, and attach a charm to each bundle) gather the mini bundles then tie a wide ribbon around the group (do not knot it), make it so when you throw it you can hold onto one end of the ribbon and set the mini bundles free. Each mini bouquet with a charm, each charm has its own meaning . When thrown the bouquet breaks apart, and it is also a surprise which charm (or wish) each maid will receive. |

Wedding Decoration
Different uses for the Pomander...
I am thinking of making this for my flowergirl. I really don't want my flowergirl throwing flowers or rose petals from a basket so I will make a pomander for her. Less cleaning up and then she can have the pomander as a keepsake.
Also I am thinking of making a few to decorate and hang on the church pews as seen in the main pic... I have fell in love with the Pomander ... this cute lil floral ball.... Anyone else using the pomander? |

What is a Pomander This very unique bouquet is actually a round ball of flowers that is suspended from the wrist with a tie of lace or ribbon. These floral balls can be any size, but generally tend to feature large, soft and many petalled flowers such as peony and hydrangea. Often there are few additional flowers or greenery added as the unique shape and style of the pomander speaks for itself. The pomander is seen in traditional European style weddings, and those that are renaissance style. The type, size and color of the bouquet is entirely up to the creativity of the bride. For theme wedding the bouquet should fit the theme. For example, a beach or Hawaiian theme wedding would look terrific with a few exotic tropical flowers carried in a hand tied style. Many brides choose to design their own bouquets for the wedding and create beautiful twists on the old traditions. Step 1.- Paint styrofoam ball the color that most of your flowers will be so that when all your flowers are in you won't see any white gaps - let dry Step 2.- Cut ribbon to length desired and pin it in a loop to the ball and hot glue it for extra security Step 3. - poke flowers into ball, remove and fill hole with hot glue and then hold flower back into place for 10 seconds... repeat until you run out of space or flowers :) That's it, you're done! |

Making your wedding day a special occassion is important and by including memories of those who shared it with you is truly priceless. Making a quilt from scraps of fabric that people write or draw what they please at the ceremony. It could be advice, poems, signatures, whatever. Then afterwards all are sewn into a quilt and you can treasure it forever. I really liked this idea instead of a traditional guest book. Planning your perfect day doesn't mean you have to plan your wedding in the state where you live, right?
Well, the FI and I live in in Maryland and we are planning our wedding in MS. There are practically no venues in Misssissippi, especially where we plan to have the wedding. However, I am learning that with a little patience and guidance, it will be the perfect day no matter where you have it. How many of you are planning your wedding out of state or even out of the country? |
