My First Post

I have been thinking about what to post as my first post for days. I came across this survey and decided I'd post it. Hopefully this is the first of many many posts as I have fourteen more months until our wedding day!

How long did you date before you got engaged?
On and off for 5 years

Did you get the ring you wanted?
It's his mother's.

Was the proposal a complete surprise?
We'd been talking about it . . .

Do you wish you had a bigger/smaller diamond? If so How big or small?
I'm adding more family diamonds to it.

Did you cry when he proposed?
I teared up

When do you want to go for your honeymoon?
I was thinking our one year anniversary, since our budget is tight.

Are you buying his wedding band for him?
Yes

Have you gone over your original wedding budget?
Not yet. I'm trying to DIY

What day of the year will your wedding be?
A Saturday in September or October

What kind of weather?
Hopefully sunny and cool

Inside or outside?
Outside wedding

Church/justice of the peace/other?
Other. Garden.

How many people will be there?
50-100

Time of day?
like late afternoon 4pm or so, into the night, cause I want a night time reception!

How many bridesmaids? Who would they be?
2-3

What kind of cake/what will it look like?
simple but elegant! :)

What kind of dress will you have/color/material?
I haven't even started. Definitely white!

What kind of flowers in your bouquet?
I want pearl sprays, stephanotis with blue rhinestones in it, blue hydrangea, white roses, blue delphinium, plumeria?


Kind of wedding bands?
I'm not sure yet, trying to tie in my grandmothers diamonds and his mothers. His is titanium.

How will you wear your hair?
Up or half up??

Who will be important to be there?
Everyone that comes!

Will the reception be big or small?
Small, intimate

What will the groom wear?
Black and tiffany blue or silver, I hope. It's his responsibility =O

How old will you and the groom be?
I will be 21 and he will be 23

How long will you be engaged before you get married?
Two years!

Live together before or wait till married?
We are waiting until we are married.

Take a long time to plan the wedding or will it be simple?
Long time, DIYing

Will you do it yourself or with family or hire someone to plan the wedding?
All me!

Will you write your own vows or use something pre-made?
I want to write our own vows he doesn't. I want to have a hand ceremony and unity candle.
