This is allieandiansummer09's Chocolate Wedding!

I was looking at the prices of cakes- and it totally appauled me to find out the prices they were asking for something that is often not even eaten!! So....my sister got married last year, and had a lot of success in doing her own cupcakes- and I have decided that this would be a great way to save some money. She bought the sugar flowers at a bakery, and the rest she made from scratch- they turned out great!

Now, I just have to decide which of these I like! - I think I really like the last pic with the purple flower- it would be really nice in light blue....what do you think?

Ian and I had been looking for a while for a photographer in our area that was affordable and good. We finally found one on my work's internal website - the post just said "great photographer"- and how they had used her for their wedding. So we looked at the website and we agreed to book an appointment to meet with her. She is located in Niagara so it was about a 40 minute drive to go see her. But after we met ther we agreed it was well worth the drive! She was so great - totally friendly and very flexible with the ideas we had. She also had an awesome portfolio- AND she was VERY reasonable. We are so excited to work with her :)

This dress was one of the first ones I tried on, and I knew immediately that it was the ONE.
I was with my future mother in law at the time, and we loved it, but agreed we should keep looking. However, I kept comparing all of the dresses to this one-and I finally brought my bridesmaids with me to look at it, and they confirmed it for me- so it's DONE!- and I'm SO happy, it cost me only a lot less than many of the other ones I saw.
I bought a beautiful veil to go with it, and now I only need the shoes- and the jewlery of course :)

My bridesmaids and I went shopping a few days ago to get an idea of what type of dresses they would like. Unfortunately, my maid of honor- my wonderful sister could not come- but I figured her dress will probably be different, so it doesn't really matter. We found a dress that is similar to the first one, but it was pretty steep in cost, compared to the others. I also like the second one, - and was thinking that we could have some blue accents- like the shoes, and maybe a little shawl to go along with it.... What do you think??

I have been looking at blue flowers to go along with the accent colour I plan to have for the bridesmaid dresses, but I can't decide which ones will look best. I thought about blue hydrangias and champagne coloured roses. I have also been considering Orchids. The flowers I choose also depend on what Geraldo's offers as centrepieces, etc....so I'll just have to wait and see!!

This is the perfect location for a beautiful summer wedding! Ian and I attended a wedding here a few years ago, and fell in love with it. The natural beauty, the lakeside location, and the elegant ballroom made a huge impression on us. When we got engaged, it was the first place we thought of. After finding out the extremely reasonable cost to have both the ceremony and the reception here, we couldn't pass it up!!
Can't wait until we have our next consultation to pick out the menu and choose all the details!
