Centerpieces

As a bride on a budget I searched for centerpieces that wouldn't break the bank, so that basically cut flowers out of the picture. But I did decide to go with the Ostrich Feather Centerpieces in Eiffel Tower vases.

I am doing these as DIY project along with a friend that happens to be an event decorator. For all the supplies - vases, feathers, floralytes and foam bouquet holders I spent about $300, which considering how much flowers would have cost is not too shabby I think.

And the great thing about them is that you can change the colors of the feathers for a different look and get different color floralytes. One thing to note, definitely get frosted white eiffel tower vases - if you get clear you end up having to get filler to hide the stem of the bouquet holder!

And to add a little "bling" to the table I found table diamonds - a bag of 2,000 for $17. They also come in other colors if you want to spice it up.

I'm actually doing the same centerpieces... but I found a place where you can rent everything for 12 tables for $400... Just so you won't have feathers and vases everywhere...

This is what I wanted to do, but I wanted the feathers to be organized more carnival-like. I love the idea! We're having a Caribbean inspired wedding and I think that feathers would be perfect! If you can pass any DIY tips, please do :)

Where did you get your supplies?  There are so many websites.  I'd rather have a point of reference than trusting the pics on some of these sites?

Hi! For everyone wondering where I got my stuff I actually wound up shopping at a few places - ebay for starters. I got 12 28" frosted white eiffel tower vases for $93 (including shipping and handling) - the store was Six Star Sales.

I got the floralytes for COD Wholesale they are the best price I could find  and for a 28" vase you'll need 3 per vase plus a few extra in case a couple are deffective. I ordered 40.  They come in a bunch of colors, but know that if you do the color changing type they cost more.

The foam bouquet holders came from save-on-crafts - it is $19.20 for 12 - be sure to get straight stem holders - the other type will not work for this project.

The feathers are harder because you really have to shop around - unfortunately the pricing changes constantly, but a good place is Rainbow Feathers or Continental Feathers.

Also, if you just want to get everything from one site - six star sales does a kit - it's around $450 depending on the size of your vase, but if you google Feather Centerpiece Kit - you'll get some other sites as well.

Hope this helps!
