I'm back....with drama!
Time to vent!
Hello beautiful brides to be! I've been gone for a while, but I'm back now. I've just been really busy with work, school, and planning our wedding. The stress comes and goes, and I've learned most of the stress is due to the people around me. Whether its work or planning this wedding, any stress that I've encountered is because of people!
The Drama and Stress I am dealing with some unreliable people which is why I am just trying to do as much as I can by myself. When I do ask someone for help, they don't hold up their end. I honestly can't wait until this is over. My parents are inviting people who I don't know or haven't seen since I was 8 years old... oh and did I forget to say fh and I are the ones paying for the wedding, not my parents. It's just annoying. I have people who are constantly telling me what I'm doing wrong and how their way is better. It's insane! More Drama I've had one bridesmaid to basically say "f-you, I'm not meeting the deadlines" I haven't asked any of my bridesmaids to do anything with the wedding except to purchase their dress and shoes and one can't even do that! We have 4 months left and she hasn't ordered her dress yet. When I called her, she actually gave me attitude. I mean seriously! I have given her a couple more days and if it isn't taken care of, she it OUT! I would have kicked her out before that, but fh convinced me to give her a few more days... but that's it! Thought it was over....More Drama! I decided to get my bridesmaids dresses from Davids Bridal. I have several people out of town and this is the only store that was located near where most of my bridesmaids live. I am purchasing my dress from another store. No big deal in my eyes....well apparently it is a problem for some people. My bridesmaid's husband came to me and said "why isn't my wife getting her dress from the same place as you!" I mean seriously! And he said with an attitude! He acted as if I was trying to give her an ugly, cheap dress and get a nice one for myself. Umm...really? She picked out the dress! I just thought that situation was so ridiculous. Well, I really had to let that out! Lol! People are driving my crazy. I should be enjoying this wedding planning, but obviously this isn't going to happen. |

Wedding Veils
Choosing the Right Veil for Your Face
Choosing the Right Veil for Your Face
Are you a hair bride or veil bride? Face the facts... Not everyone can wear the same wedding veil. Make a plan. Hair brides want to focus on their hair and usually go for the simple tack on veil that can be removed after the wedding ceremony. The veil bride wants to enjoy her wedding veil through the reception. Veil brides usually opt for the more detailed pieces with edging and multiple layers. For veil brides, the hairstyle is to support the veil look. No matter what type of bride you are, you want to choose the veil that is right for your face. Not every bride has a face shape that needs balancing by her wedding hairstyle and veil. If you have a rounded or angular face, you should pay attention to these pointers. The basic face shapes are: Oval, Round, Oblong, Heart, Diamond, Square, Rectangle, and Triangle. The first four shapes are soft and curved, while the last four have more angles and corners. Pull your hair away from your face and study the outer edge to determine your face shape. Here's how to tell which category you fall into: If your face is OVAL, it has soft, curved edges and is slightly longer than is it wide. If your face is ROUND, use the nose as a center point, there is equal distance all around. It will be as wide as it is long. If your face is OBLONG, it will look like an elongated oval. Many oblongs are mistaken for ovals, but an oblong has added length. If your face is HEART-SHAPED, it has a narrow chin and is wider at the eye, temple, and cheek area. The edges are curved. If your face is a DIAMOND, you have sharper features and it's widest at the cheeks, narrow at the chin and forehead. If your face is SQUARE, it's level at the forehead and down the sides. Your chin may stick out a bit and your jaw is strong and square. If the distance from the top of your face to your chin is the same as the width, you have a square face. If your face is REGTANGULAR, it's longer than it is wide and similar to a square. If your face is TRIANGULAR, it's similar to a heart shape, but the lines and edges are more angular. What Wedding Veil Is Right for You? When searching for hair and veil styles, "opposites attract." For example, a round, full face will benefit from a wedding veil that falls along the sides of the face, working to narrow it. A round-face should also stay away from round hairstyles. Wearing your hair down or in a face-framing style is best. On the opposite end, a square jaw line needs softness. Tendrils of hair that frame the face help to ease a strong jaw, and a longer veil will work better than a short wide one. Many people consider a strong jaw line a striking feature, and the strong bride will want to show it off. If you have an oblong face, add a bit of width. Look for veils with the waterfall effect, along with a wide tiara or bun wrap. Stay away from big hair, this will only make you look more elongated. If your face is heart-shaped or triangular, you'll want to add width at the jaw. Most veils will be too full for you, the best choice is a back piece wedding veil, where the width shows up behind the neckline. As for hair, a flipped-up style is a great look. And, finally, if you're lucky enough to have a diamond- or oval-shaped face, congratulations your choices are unlimited because you're perfectly symmetrical. Look for a style to match your wedding gown. Article courtesy of http://www.perfectbridal.com |

Wedding Veil
Choosing a wedding veil...
Are you using a veil? If so, what type of wedding veil are you using? How are you deciding which type of veil?
If you are not using a veil, are you using a hairpiece? What made you decide not to use a veil? I have decided to use both, a veil and a hairpiece. However, I will remove the veil before the reception. I have decided on a mid-length veil, but I am not sure what style I like the best. |

Inexpensive Ceremony Decorations....What to do??
I am having a hard time picking decorations for the wedding ceremony. It is being held at my church and my church is huge! So I am trying to come up with inexpensive ideas. But I believe regardless of what I do it will end up kind of pricey. I was thinking of using bows on the pews and maybe some a few floral decorations. But I think I will need a little more. What other inexpensive ideas could you guys give me?

Wedding Flowers
Bridal Bouquet
I have never been much of a flower type of girl, but I have absolutely fallen in love with calla lilies. It is such a simple, but elegant flower. And it has pretty much set the tone for our wedding. From the centerpieces to the bouquets, calla lilies are everywhere.
I decided to use fake flowers for the centerpieces, boutonnieres, and bridemaids' bouquets. I am going to use real flowers for my bouquet. I have narrowed it down to the two pictures of flowers to the left. Should I go with all purple calla lilies or the picasso calla lilies? My bridesmaids will all have white calla lilies. So I am leaning more towards the all purple calla lilies. What do you guys think? |

Wedding Dress
Okay...Now I can say yes to the dress!
I thought I had found the perfect dress a few weeks ago. I went back about a week later to try it on again and I just didn't get that same feeling that I got before. So I decided to continue my search. I stumbled upon this tiny boutique and fell in love with the designer Maggie Sottero. Her dresses were absolutely unbelievable! They were all so beautiful, but I did find it! I found the one that I know will make FH cry! (that is my ultimate goal - to see him cry on our wedding day Lol!).
Oh, and I did go back a week later to try it on again and I got that same feeling about it. So I am absolutely sure that this is the dress! Yay!! |

Back to the drawing board...
Still searching for the perfect dress :-(
I haven't been on this site in a little over a week. I have been a little busy. Anyway, I thought I had found "the dress". I really did, until I tried it on again. It just didn't feel like it was "THE DRESS" anymore. It just didn't feel right for some reason... I don't really know how to fully explain it. So now, I am back to the drawing borad. I will be going to try on a few more dresses this week and I hope to find something at this new place. I'm looking for a dress that is still me, but a "WOW" me. So I will be sure to keep you guys posted on my "perfect dress" journey.

Thanks to my lovely fellow brides....
Thanks to a couple of my lovely fellow brides, I found out about the awesome sale at Hobby Lobby and Michael's. I purchased sooo much stuff and every single thing I purchased was half off. I purchased almost half of everything I needed... I still have quite a few items to buy, so I am hoping there will be another sale within the next few months.
I just feel like I accomplished a lot in the last few days and it feels really good!! No stressing here... or at least none right now. (^_^) Next on the list....HONEYMOON! |

Wedding Reception Dress Change
So I am wondering if anyone will be changing into a reception dress after the ceremony?
I am really considering it now since the dress I have chosen may be a little much to wear throughout the entire day. |
