Cake
I love them all! The taste is AMAZING!! The cake is soooo lite and fluffy, and there is a chocolate ganache layer in there! I am thinking about getting a selection of them, and basically putting a silver platter on each table at cake cutting time! That way the guests can see a selection of all of the cakes, and each take one! They will be different flavours too! (We have some people who cant eat chocolate)
I love them all and cant possibly decide on ONE! |

Centerpiece idea
How incredibly stunning is this DIY centerpiece? I absolutely fell in love with it, and I'm pretty sure that this is the kind of thing I'm going to go for!!!
Its really a cheap thing to do and I'm loving the non-floral centerpieces! Have a look at http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/07/24/diy-details-centerpieces/ for more details on how to do this amazing thing yourself!!! |

Cake
Having a real hard time with all of the cake makers. Can anyone suggest a good one that actually returns your calls? Gets back to you when they say they will? Makes the samples, and they actually look good? Didnt think so!!!
What I want for the 'cake' are little individual petit fours like the pic below. They dont have to be that gorgeous, but I adore petit fours and we are planning to have a teeny cake for fiance and I to cut, and then the waitrons come out with each persons individual version of this cake, on a tiny silver platter. I think it would look amazing!! We tasted a petit four from Annica's Deli (who, by the way, are my 'dream' cake makers but are a bit on the pricey side! Make that a lot!!), and these things were AMAZING!! Huge as well!! The one we had was a lovely moist chocolate cake in 2 layers, with chocolate ganache in between, buttercream icing on top, and wrapped in a plastic icing. Wow. Unfortunately at R9 each, it may be a bit more than we budgeted for. How much are you meant to budget for cakes anyway?? |

Bridesmaids
I have decided that my bridesmaids should wear black, with an accent of purple or lavender. While I would love them to all look the same, I think its nice that they are each able to choose a style that suits them the best, and since its a black dress they will be able to wear it again afterwards.
For their purple accent, they can have a handbag, gloves, a scarf, a belt.. whatever they fancy! I'm hoping for something like this: I think it is so elegant! |

Flowers
I cant decide on something! I'm meant to give my ideas to the florist but I can't decide if I want a posy of roses, or a cascading romantic bouquet...
I found this one which I think is beautiful! I adore the ribbon detail. |

The Proposal
Well, Marc and I have been dating since May 2003, so when he decided to propose in November 2007, exactly 4 and a half years into our relationship, it didn't come as a huge suprise. We had been living together for 3 years already, and are practically married anyway!
I got the most gorgeous tanzanite, white gold and diamond ring (which we picked out together!), and it was the most romantic, beautiful moment of my life! We have decided to tie the knot at Da Vincenzo ( www.davincenzo.co.za ) in Sunninghill on the 06th of September 08. We had actually booked and paid for the venue before we got engaged, but more about the venue in a later post! |
