Wedding Dress
Huge Sigh, Near Tears...
So, somethings in life have drastically changed. UGH. I love change and hate change. Changed jobs: good change. Change engagement rings: good change. Change Wedding Dates and Location: bad change. My sister is coming from overseas for our wedding, she works for the GOV, will not be able to make our wedding if we keep the same date. SIGH. Great friend, perhaps the best, told me and I quote, "if you keep your same wedding date, I will be able to participate or attend. It's a PREFERRED CUSTOMER weekend at the store where I work." OMG. What?! I have already bought the $$$$$$$ and not so attractive dress for her February nuptials and now I learn this: bad change. Down 2 BMs and apparently a wedding venue. The lovely, we will nickname her V, has double-booked the venue and now we are changing the date. And paying for every single thing ourselves. AMAZING. I don't know about you guys but I am getting super stressed about all the details of this thing. thinking of eloping.......................................................................................................................................................??????????????????

dream cake
Originally when I thought of our wedding, come on, we all did it when we were around 5 years old or when we had our first "love" boyfriend, but anyways, I did not think I would choose an ice blue. Now, it is all I think of for our spring nuptials. The Mister is the type of man that has to be sold on everything, sort of like it is his own idea (I'm sure none of you know the type :)!) So I "sold" him on the idea of ice blue/tiffany blue and chocolate brown. Now, I have hence changed my mind and hijacked said wedding colors into a coral pink, ice blue, and maybe a buttercream sort of yellow. (See other picture). I truly love these for our afternoon garden/beach nuptials in april, insight? Anyways to incorporate the color scheme without going over-board or making it seem disorganized?

Wedding Dress
Dream dress on a shoe string budget!!!
Excitement of all excitement! I just made an excellent score for a wedding dress. Since we are paying for our wedding ourselves, along with getting ready to go to law school and finish paying off our daughter's hospital bills, the budget for my dream dress was $600. Then a few additives, such as the veil, I was allowed $750! What?! Mind you my darling sister had a Carolina Herrera gown. Obviously not for $750 however.
Challenge accepted!! Score big! I found a Jim Hjelm Alencon lace wedding dress, a little big, for 500!!!!! Originally $3900 and with all of the tags. Any of you living near the panhandle of FL looking for a dress on a budget, this lovely store is closing and every dress is under 500!!! Even better, the woman who owns it gave me an elbow length veil!!!!!!! Love it. Wonder what I will do with excess 250!!!! Thinking some DIY project money. Unfortunately, I cannot take a break from being mommy to figure out how to upload these pictures. But here is a link!!! http://classifieds.weddingbee.com/topic/looking-for-jim-hjelm-8810-8811 Email me and I will give you any details of the vendors she carries, phone number, directions, etc. |
