Ask a Question
I want to become an event planner. Help!
I have been told for years that I'm great at planning/organizing, but I never really thought about it as a career...until I saw how much fun it was to plan my own wedding. Nearly everything we did was DIY & we've had so many compliments on the day. It's really helped encourage me to look into my options for some type of work as a planner.

BUT I have no clue where to start!! I know some of you ladies have gotten certified & started your own side businesses...Would you share how you got started? Any advice on the best places to go for online training/certifications? Any help would be awesome.

Thanks, ladies. Hope all the planning is going well :)

My dream day
Alwayshis' wedding..& pro pics!
I'm back from my honeymoon...& still on cloud 9 from how wonderfully my wedding went!! I don't have tons of time now, so I'll have to write another post later with more details. But I just wanted to share a sneak peak of our amazing pics from our photographer (Cristina G Photography).

The day was even better than Sean & I could have hoped for...we were so blessed by the love & support of our guests. And we had tons of fun! There were no big glitches & we were able to enjoy the day. But it's SO true what they say - the days will FLY by, so try to soak in all of the wonderful details :)

So much about our wedding was DIY, & I'm still getting tons of compliments on how beautiful the details were. I was telling everyone that it was mainly because of my awesome WBC sisters! Thanks so much for the help/inspiration.

Going to the chapel!!
4 days :)
It's my turn this weekend!!!!!!!!!!! I am so overwhelmed with tons of emotions right now...I'm tired, stressed, thankful, blessed, crying, happy, anxious....ah!! :) I am so in love with my best friend & cannot wait to finally become his wife.

My advice to you ladies is that these last few days WILL be stressful/busy. But do not let that be what you remember about this week or let it control your emotions. Soak it in. Remember why you're marring your love. It goes by so incredibly fast!

I haven't always had time to post (I've done SO many DIY...I'll post pics when I'm back from our honeymoon)...but you ladies have shaped my ideas & helped with tons of encouragement & inspiration. Thank you!! And enjoy the planning :)

Wedding Music And Songs
Alwayshis needs major HELP!! 10 days!!
Good morning, ladies. I am 10 days away from my big day. Super excited, mostly ready....except for one major detail: the reception playlist!! We're not having a DJ, so I need to create a playlist for the cocktail hour, dinner portion, & the dance. AH! It seemed like such a huge task, so I kept putting it off. I have made it this far without any meltdowns or major stress, & I'd like to keep it that way!

I know the song choice is a big part of people having fun & sticking around for the party, so I'm determined to sit down tonight & figure this out. But I really need your suggestions. What are your top few songs that should be at a reception dance??? I'm aiming to have a big mix of different eras/styles.

Thanks a bunch, you girls are the best!

Vows were chosen...
Tears were shed...
Ahh!! I'm 12 days out & getting SO emotional!! Sean & I wanted to incorporate the "traditional" vows with some of our own wording, so once I wrote out the finished vows, I asked him to proofread it. It seriously gave me chills, & I started bawling. Haha. What do you ladies think...does it have enough to it? And does it flow together smoothly?

VOWS:

I, ____, take you, ____, to be my wedded wife/husband, to have & to hold, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness & in health, to love & to cherish. As I lead/follow you in Christ, I will respect, trust, support, & care for you. From this day forward, I promise to be faithful to you alone; that through His grace, we might grow together in the likeness of our Lord & Savior.

RING EXCHANGE:

With this ring, I seal my vow of love to you & pray that I may fulfill God's purpose in our home, in the name of the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.

Picked my napkin rings near the highway!!
I thought my mom was kidding when she told me that she "stopped by the side of the road" to get my napkin rings for the reception...but nope :) She had this cute idea, since our dinner is in a garden, to tie the napkins with long grass. Please excuse the wrinkled napkins in the pic, but I think they add a fun, natural touch, but I wanted to get some help from my WBC ladies.

What do you think? Do they look good or kind of cheesy??? Need opinions, please :)

Applied for our license!
It's being mailed today :) YEAH!
Sean & I both took vacation days last Thursday to get some final wedding things done, like finally ordering my band & going to WI to apply for our marriage license. We got stuck in terrible traffic & made it to the city hall just 5 minutes before they closed!! Whew!

For how excited I was, it was pretty uneventful. We just filled out a form, raised our right hands & swore that the info was correct, then gave them $80. I'm sure it will be more fun to actually receive our license! It's getting mailed to me today...can't wait!!!

DIY Wedding
Alwayshis' Throwies & Table Numbers :)
I am SO happy with the way these turned out...& they were incredibly cheap/easy to make!! I bought the vases at the dollar store & got the pretty vellum paper 50% off at Hobby Lobby. Then I just downloaded a nice font & cut the paper to size. I bought a roll-on scrapbooking glue dot dispenser to fasten the paper to the vase.

For the throwies, I bought 100 LED bulbs & 100 lithium batteries from eBay. Altogether, including shipping, it was under $15! I just taped the LED around the battery & it has been shining brightly for several days.

What do you ladies think of these?? Do you think it's ok that the light seems a bit blue?

Wedding Dress
My new diet: McDonald's!!
I had what was supposed to be my final dress fitting yesterday....but to my surprise I've continued to lose so much weight that the seamstress has to completely redo the alterations! Don't get me wrong, this is great news (especially because I've hardly been trying to lose weight) - but with only 22 days to go & a low bank account, I can't afford any more alterations.

Since I'm apparently losing most of this weight from stress (work-related) then I'm probably going to keep losing a few pounds....so my family was joking that my new "diet" should be McDonald's to help maintain the same weight. Haha.

Do any of you have advice for maintaining weight??? Really not sure how to deal with this. Thanks for any advice!
