Wedding Dress
My new diet: McDonald's!!

I had what was supposed to be my final dress fitting yesterday....but to my surprise I've continued to lose so much weight that the seamstress has to completely redo the alterations! Don't get me wrong, this is great news (especially because I've hardly been trying to lose weight) - but with only 22 days to go & a low bank account, I can't afford any more alterations.

Since I'm apparently losing most of this weight from stress (work-related) then I'm probably going to keep losing a few pounds....so my family was joking that my new "diet" should be McDonald's to help maintain the same weight. Haha.

Do any of you have advice for maintaining weight??? Really not sure how to deal with this. Thanks for any advice!

I've always been very skinny and try to eat to gain/maintain weight.  McDonald's isn't the best way to go as it is full of fat and doesn't have much nutritional value. Instead try healthy fats like fish, lean meat, nuts, and avacadoes.  Carbs and protein are important in maintaining/gaining weight, but make sure your diet is still balanced.  I would suggest lots of whole grains, a protein powder (whey or soy) supplement, or Ensure shakes. Ensure is great for maintaining weight! Also, try eating a lot of small meals instead of 3 bigger ones if possible.

If you want to keep some pounds on, eat a peanut butter sandwich before bed every night. I had a friend who was too skinny for her liking and that's how she put on weight.
Also, make sure you're eating full healthy meals. Eating McDonalds will keep the weight on, but it'll also dull your skin. So stick with whole grains. Think whole wheat spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce and olive oil. Good for you foods that are filling and satisfying at the way to go.

Actually Ensure is a fantastic idea! I worked in a pharmacy for years and we always gave this to customers who needed to gain weight! protein shakes are good too, if it's good quality natural protein! :)

Thanks purplenat & tasha..I am eating 2 full meals a day & replacing 1 meal with a protein supplement (but only about 4 days a week!). I really don't want to gain weight, just keep myself from getting smaller.

I'm pretty good about eating healthy foods. So maybe like Tasha siad, I should just not be as strict with my diet. Thanks for the advice!

I am now eating some healthy no-no's too cause I can't lose any more weight and I am losing it now from stress so I'm eating a few grains, yogurts, etc. I was on a no grain, no dairy, etc diet so putting a few things back in should help me maintain my current weight. I would say eat normal and drink lots of water. If you cut anything out to shed some weight, maybe incorporate some back in...

One of my good friends has had some serious health issues, and they caused her too lose every bit of fat on her. She got down to about 83 pounds before she finally recovered, and now loses weight the moment she gains it.

Her doctor told her to go down to one of those fitness vitamin stores and ask for a mass building protein drink, or something like that. I guess body builders take it to gain weight, and she said it works great.
