Ask a Question
I am so frustrated - I just want to get my ring!

Ugg... So I am really bummed. Brandon originally ordered my ring back on Thanksgiving weekend and it still hasn't come in yet! At first they told him it would come by December 14th, but then since my finger is so small (3.75) they said it wouldn't come in till Jan. 10th. So Brandon had to use a borrowed fitted ring for the initial proposal. That was fine.

So... Jan. 10th rolls around and they push it back another two weeks and now it was been its "almost here" or " it should be here any day now!" ever since! It is March 3rd, more than 3 months since he ordered it and still no ring. This is really annoying me! They keep telling me something different and I get all excited to pick it up and then they tell me they don't have it! The fitted ring has been worn so much that the fitter has come off and I have just given up trying to wear it. My poor ring just sits in its little box. What should I do? Is this normal?

I am not trying to complain, but I wish they could just tell me one thing and stick to it! I have been patient enough!

** UPDATE **
So it came in on March 8th, but it was just to make sure it was the right size before they set the diamond in. It did fit fine even though I asked for a 3.75 and it was a 4, but I am thinking I will try the 4 out and if it is not as snug as I want it I will have it refitted after the wedding. Now it should be completed by the 13th. I'm crossing my fingers that there will be no more complications!

To have ordered the ring around Thanksgiving & here it is March is plenty of time to get the matter straight on the jewelers end, in my opinion.  Have you spoken with a manager?  Better yet, a District Manager?  I commend you for your patience & for being very kind in the process because everybody in business makes mistakes, but this is your ring.  Plus, you've been told one thing & their service has displayed another.  Having worked in the retail field, I would have had to cater to you in some way at this point....be it a free pair of studs or something!  Seriously though, I would speak to someone in charge, get a specific date from them (preferably in writing), get their name & they'll get it done.  The worst thing for them would be for you to air their poor service ONLINE & risk them losing business.

I had a similar problem.  My fiance ordered a custom designed ring for me in October and we were suposed to have it by December 14 before a big family get together.  I called every day for a week after hoping it would be in by Christmas.  They put a rush on it.  My only wish is I had been patient.  I did receive the ring Christmas Eve Day, but because of the rush the setting was not completely straight.  We ordered it from Ben Moss and they do back their products but I have to send it back in for 2-4 weeks to get reset.  Be patient and hope for a perfectly made ring instead of getting a ring and having to send it back to re-do a rush job.  (It was Christmas and everyone ordered jewlery).
Good luck, I know it sucks but you will get it!

Thanks for the advice Pam! That actually makes me feel a lot better. I really do not want to have to have it back in the shop once it does get here. The final word now is March 13. I hope it is worth all the wait!

ugh I hate when businesses don't follow through on their business deals. when you tell someone you will  have it on a certain date you should make sure it gets there on that date! I hope you get your ring soon with no issues.
