I'm still here, guys! I promise!
Hello my beautiful brides!

I know I've been seriously slacking as I haven't done a post here in nearly a year (how bad is that!?!) but I'm writing to let you know that although I'm not doing many wedding posts until at least Septebmerish (once the hubs and I have moved back home to America - it's just too hectic to try and plan a wedding in the midst of immigration forms and teaching!) but you can still read my ramblings and stay connected!

I have a blog that I update frequently (non-wedding related, but still lots of fun!) and I'd LOVE it if you'd stop by and say hello! I even did my first ever 'vlog' yesterday (that's video blogging for those of you unfamiliar with the fancy lingo!) so if you're looking for a good laugh head on over there and watch that! Ha!

I'll be back in a couple of months to share my many DIY projects (thanks largely to Pinterest - seriously girls, if you haven't yet discovered that website you NEED to get your butt on it ASAP!) so until then please say hello!

Heres the link: http://amandabethxoxo.blogspot.co.uk/

Take good care, and good luck with your planning! :)

Paper Flowers Are Finito!
Well thanks to the feedback from all of you lovely ladies, I decided to do the pearl centers on the paper flower table decorations.

Just thought I'd share a couple pictures!

In addition to the small flowers, I ended up also making two larger peonies for the groom and I. Very happy with the final products! :)

HELP! Which do you prefer?
I originally got the idea to use these as table setting decorations from a FANTASTIC post by aimee114. I thought they were GORGEOUS and would be really elegant and lovely sitting on each plate/table setting for my guests. In addition to the champagne chocolates we're giving them, anyone who thought they were as adorable as I do would be able to take these home also. They're a win win! Beautiful and practical! Score!

I followed aimee's directions on her post and found that not only are they beautiful, but they're incredibly easy to make! (if you're interested, check her out!)

My dilemma, however, is which center I like most? With my gown I'll have on an ivory pearl necklace which holds huge sentimental value, as well as pearl pins in my hair. So because of this, I'm drawn towards the pearl center. However, I really like the stones as well as I think it looks more contemporary! Hmmmmm.

Soo, I'm taking a pole to see which do you prefer? Can't wait to hear your feedback!

Thanks ladies! xoxo

Confetti Cones are finished!!
Hello ladies!

I blogged a few days ago about my confetti cones which I'd ordered off of Ebay :) Well they arrived in the post the other day (Horray!) and I spent the entire day yesterday watching Wimbledon while I filled every single one of them with the confetti, added the date of our wedding onto each and tied loads of lovely little bows.

The basket will obviously be organized better for the big day, but I wanted to show how lovely they all look together.

I'm tickled pink with myself and just wanted to share my masterpieces!

Confetti Cones!
For our small English wedding I told the Fiance that he should choose the color as I've demanded we have purple for the big white wedding back in the states (My favorite color is purple and I've known since the age of 5 that it was going to be the color of my wedding).

He's decided on blue (In reference to his favorite football team...come on Everton!) and because of this I've ordred these adorable confetti cones that are in a sky blue vintage print. (I love vintage designs).

If anyone is interested in these or ones similar, the eBay member is 'itsawrap0121' out of the UK. She has a WIDE variety of wedding favors and decorations in every color imagineable - and she's very reasonable with her prices! :) I highly recommend checking her out!

Happy planning ladies!

Biodegradable Confetti has arrived!
As most of you are probably aware, nowadays the majority of wedding venues/churches require that the confetti you use after the ceremony is biodegradable (in an attempt to be more environmentally friendly). And while I'm ALL for going green, I was worried that the biodegradable rice paper confetti would be boring (I'm a real glitter and glitz girl and the thought of not having sparkly confetti made me super sad). I even considered using bubbles rather than confetti in an attempt to salvage some sparkle...however I decided against them as I find that sometimes they're too big in pictures and you end up with a bubble for an eye or mouth. I decided to go ahead and ordered the 'True Love' biodegradable confetti and make a judgement call once I'd inspected it in person.

The boxes of confetti arrived today and I have to admit that I'm tickled pink with it! While yes, I'm aware that it lacks any sparkle, I think that the pastel colors are lovely and it floats beautifully instead of dropping like a rock (as the plastic stuff would have done). In addition, the pieces aren't massive, so I wont have to worry that I'll look as though I've got an eye patch on in pictures. I've found a photo of what this brand of confetti looks like in pictures and I think it's wonderful (And friendly to our environment! Go green! Yay!)

True Love do other types on confetti aside from the assorted bells, bows and lucky horseshoes that I've ordered - they also have a variety flower pedals and hearts etc. They're not ridiculously expensive and you can even find great deals on eBay! (hooray for saving money!)

Let the confetti throwing commence! :)

Hope this was helpful to any others who were doubting that biodegradable rice paper confetti could be pretty :)

Something Blue...
Creative idea from one of my friends
Last June one of my good friends (my made of honor for our English wedding, and one of my bridesmaids for the big one back in the states) got married; and as her 'something blue' she had diamonte's on the bottom of her heels which read 'I Do'. I just absolutely LOVED the idea (I think it's so sweet - and very clever!) and because I'd never seen it before so thought I'd pass the idea along!

Hope you find this as inspirational as I did! :)

Ask a Question
Help me decide! Which hair style do you prefer?
For my low key ceremony my dress is a strapless ivory silk gown which is very elegant and simple. I'm not wearing a veil, and aside from my tiara there's no bling bling (and trust me, it was hard for me not to have sparkles...but I know I'll get to wear the big fancy dress later on in 2013). However, I will have ivory crystals in my bouquet of white calla lilies. I'll be wearing an ivory pearl necklace that was given to me by a very very close family friend (who sadly, recently passed away) for my 16th birthday. Also the florist is using the left over silk from my dress after alterations to go around the stems of the calla lilies and pinning it with ivory pearls.

Keeping all of the above in mind, I really LOVE the first photo and thats currently my top choice...however the 'what if's' are creeping in on me!
I'm in such a pickle over which hair style to choose! I'm trying to go for an elegant, classy look (something which suits the simplicity of my dress and calla lilies).

Which one do you think best suits the look I'm going for?

Thanks ladies!

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
Our rings are in!!!
The FH and I popped into the jewelers last week to purchase our wedding bands, and they have just called to let us know they're available to be picked up! HORRAY! (I totally did a happy dance).

Hubby to be chose to get a black Zirconia ceramic ring with a Tungsten carbide inlay (Personally, I would have preferred if he'd chose an 18k white gold band to match my engagement/wedding rings as I'm not a fan of the black wedding bands, but it's his ring and his favorite color so who am I to demand he do what I prefer?) After all, the zirconia/tungsten rings are one of the most durable and scratch resistant rings you can get and he's tickled pink with his choice so I am too :)

I absolutely LOVE my wedding ring in that these diamonds match the side set diamonds on my engagement ring perfectly. Because the large diamond in my engagement ring is set partially in the band rather than sticking out (which I'm thankful for because if it were any other way I'd be a walking hazzard who scratches everyone) I've had to get a wishbone shaped wedding band to accommodate. I originally wanted just a plain diamond wedding band which was straight across, but that left a gap between the two rings and looked very unflattering - and if I were to have a custom made ring it would have been tripple the price! So this is a compromise which I'm very happy with. Besides, it's not something that everyone goes for so I feel more unique :) haha When we renew our vows in 2013 at the 'big' wedding I'll have another ring identical to this which will go on the top of my engagement ring- in other words I'll have a wedding band for each country we were married in and for each place we've called home. Essentially, my engagement ring becomes encompassed between the two bands which form a circle :) (very symbolic to me, and again, very unique).

I'll post pictures of the my engagement ring and wedding band together once we get home to better show what I'm talking about (and this gives me the opportunity to put it on and admire one last time before the wedding, after all I just HAVE to make sure it's the correct size ;) ;)

38 days! Holy cow, I'm getting so excited!!

We're having two very different weddings (greedy, I know) both on opposite sides of the Atlantic! As my husband and in-laws are from England, and that's where I have called home for the past 4 years, we decided to have an elegant and very low key wedding in England on July 16th 2011. It was small, intimate and wonderful. However I'm VERY excited to renew our vows surrounded by ALL of our family and friends at our 'big white wedding' or our dream wedding - back home in Vermont in October 2013 :) Our special day will have a chic/ whimsical Alice And Wonderland/ English tea party theme. The primary color is a burnt orange, with accents of fall colors and deep purple, in order to accent the beautiful Vermont foliage. I'm so excited for the big day!
