I ordered my garter from The Plaid Place, and I just picked it up a few days ago! It's so cute, and matches Duncan's kilt.

I have fallen in love with these dresses!

I am debating if I should get a second dress to wear during the reception. I was thinking a short dress, for dancing... but I'm not sure.
Thoughts?

I went and bought the fabrics and ribbon to make the pillow for our ring barer to carry. I'm going to make it tomorrow... hopefully it works out!

Duncan and I want to have a signature cocktail or punch to serve at the reception, we've found a punch called "Perfect Pear". So now we have to try it...
maybe this will be an excuse for a party of some sort...?

750 ml extra-dry champagne
8 oz pear schnapps
8 oz pear nectar
2 limes
350 ml apple seltzer
pear slices
Chill all ingredients. Combine schnapps and nectar in large bowl. Squeeze in juice from two limes and stir. Add seltzer and champagne just before serving. Garnish with pear slices..

not sure if the wedding is going to be yellow or green yet...

Duncan will be wearing his kilt for our wedding, so I need to make sure that our colour scheme matches. Yellow, blue or green? since it's a summer wedding, I don't want anything that looks too dark. What does everyone think? any suggestions?

My bridesmaids are my three bestest friends from home- Kristina (MOH), Jacklyn and Megan, my wonderful college friend Hayley, and my favorite little sister Kathryn!

The day Duncan proposed to me, we were at a cottage with some friends and my brother. I guess he had tried to propose to me earlier in the day, but I ruined it... unknowingly of course! haha. We were heading out to the pool and when I got in the car, Duncan told me he forgot his baithing suite inside and asked if I would go get it for him. told him he should get it because I'd already reminded him a billion times not to forget it. (I even had an extra packed in the car for him!). He insisted that I get it for him and I continued to resist, telling him he could wear the one in the car. His reason for not wearing the one we had with us in the car, or so he said, was that he was "too fat for it" (even though he is not overweaight by any means... haha). By this point, my brother and friend were also asking me to hurry up and go get it because they wanted to get to the pool. I resisted out of principle, that "just because I'm his girlfriend I don't have to do everything for him".
SO, Duncan went in himself, came back out and got in the car. We drove up to the main lodge and as I got out of the car, Duncan got down on one knee outside my door and showed me why he'd wanted me to go back inside so badly. Apparently it had been sitting on the dresser with a note beside it, asking me to marry him. I was so overwhelmed and surprised, I must have cried for 10 minutes before I even said yes! haha, and as an extra, rather unintended bit to the proposal, a whole bunch of bunnies came right up to us and were trying to hop into the car :)
I felt awful for not going in and ruining his proposal TWICE in one day, but it didn't matter how he asked, because it was special anyway!
P.S. Did I mention he asked my dad for permission first!?
What a wonderful husband he is going to be...

I love all of these, but I think I love the yellow dress best...
Duncan likes the first one best. But who knows, after I try them on... my opinions about them may change!
I am going to Dartmouth to do some dress trials next weekend with some friends, and hopefully we'll be able to take pictures so I can post them!


I put up some of the pictures of me trying on dresses... I'm not sure I really like any of them on me though... I still have lots more searching to do!
