Wedding Vows

So, I need some help...

Neither Bryan or I go to church regularly. Occasionaly we go with one or the other's family, but that's it. However, we are having kind of a "churchy" officiant. We're meeting with him and his wife this weekend, really super nice people that my mom introduced us to (from her church).

The problem: I'd really like to write our own vows, but I don't even know where to start. Is there somewhere that can give me ideas? What will you be doing on your wedding day? Writing your own or going traditional.

There isn't a whole lot of "traditional" going on in our wedding, so I really want to write our own, the problem is just getting started...

If you google "wedding vows" a lot of stuff comes up that can give you great inspiration if you want to write your own vows.  But my husband and I asked our officiant if he had vows that he recommends.  We took those traditional vows and customized them for my husband and I.  It was perfect because it was a mix of both! He (the officiant) actually mailed us a script of the entire ceremony for us to look over!  It was great because we knew exactly what he was going to say and we were able to personalize everything from there.  If your officiant does a lot of weddings he may be able to give you something similar.  Or at least give you an idea of the vows he uses.  Hope this helps!  Good luck :o)

We wrote our own vows.  Basically followed this format, and that got everything going.  :)
