Deciding on what we were doing was a roller coaster ride. It seemed like everyday I was calling my friends and family to tell them we were going to Vegas, going to Mexico, driving them crazy. It was so hard making the final decision, but in the end we wanted to make sure that everyone that we wanted to be there was there. PEOPLE!!!! were the most important factor in our decision.
After making the decision of where we then began the daunting task of looking for venues around Calgary and let me tell you that was no easy task either. We went through should we get married in a church, when we never go to church at all anyway. It's crazy how you over analyze something that in the end is so simple and true. We soon realized that we are nature lovers and wanted something beautiful and simple outside...enter the Al Azhar Shrine Centre in the NW.
Here you are able to have both your ceremony and reception in the same space. Jason and I when we finally saw the venue space literally had our breath taken away. The lake is beautiful and I can only imagine what it will look like in the fall. Please see attached photos of the venue space . Total bonus, the venue space is super reasonable compared to other spaces we were looking at.
Word to the wise, popular locations in the summer/fall book up quickly. When we were looking at potential venues many of them were booked up or only have four weekends left in 2010. Future brides beware!!!
I am so happy that we have finally agreed on a location!! Now I can move onto the exciting stuff. Did you fall completely in love with your venue or did it have to grow on you?
