I got my photos back yesturday and I LOVE THEM. Not bad for a plus size gal! I had alot of fun.
I got up that Saturday at 7am after yet another long night of school. I took my shower, blowed dryed my hair and spent an hour flat ironing it. Then came the makeup. So I applied black eyeliner then black and gray eye shadows and then another layer of liner and shadows. I felt like a french hooker, lol. Both the photographer and my friend told me to put it on thick. lol. Ok... so the good part.
I was soo nervous the hour before I had to leave and on the drive over I almost chicken'd out. But when I pulled in front of her house she had a sexy black framed mirror with a hot pink bow hanging from her door saying "welcome Amber". I felt soo much better. Rachelle greeted me and took me inside her home. To the right she transformed her family room into a studio with different backgrounds. To the left was her dinning room where she had a rack full of shoes and accessories. On her dinning room table she had out samples of her work which just blew me away. She explained to me how she uses lights to really work for a person.
She helped me layout my 3 outfits and place them on hangers.
Ok. So my first outfit was hot pink with black accents. I was nervous as hell. She posed me in about a million diffrent ways and eventually I got the hang of it. Chin down, look at the camera, smile, do a sexy look.. etc.
My secound outfit was this long black nightgown which looks more like an evening gown. It has rhinestone straps that criss cross in the back. That one was a little more fun because I was worried about my bum showing so much.
My last outfit was amazing. It is my bridal outfit. White corset and these adorable white ruffle panties. I wore these cute pearl necklaces and rhinestone bracelets along with my pearl earrings. oh and my bridal heels with my "something blue". This was the most fun set. By then I was a "pro" and just started posing on my own. lol. She got some cute shots of my shoes with the L's on them. She had music going during the entire shoot and just then a song from my favorite movie came on, Click Flash by Ciara from the Sex and The City when Carrie is doing the bridal photo shoot for the Vogue magazine. PERFECT. I got a little more sassy then and wasn't ready to stop posing. lol.
So anyhow, I had an amazing time and after all that didn't mind walking around in underware and heels in front of a woman who has a perfect body. lol. I'm glad that I did it. Something that I will never forget. I've always been self-concious about my body. Even though I did this as a present for my FH it was a gift for me as well. To celebrate me, cause after all I am pretty amazing.
Rachelle was awesome. She is the cutest 30 something woman I've ever met. She was so down to earth and just made me feel beautiful. She kept telling me how good I was doing and how she loved my expressions that I made on my own. She was more excited than me at times. But I guess she saw something that I didn't. She told me that she never shows the pictures before she is "done" with them but she showed me one of mine and it took my breath away.
IHer website is www.elleboudior.com she is awesome to work with. She is moving the end of summer which is a bummer cause I would love to do some more shoots with her.
Anyhow I love my pictures. These are the first 5 she sent me. Can't wait to see the rest.
To all the women who have "issues" with their body... we are our worst critics. The men we are marrying have seen us on our worst days and they still look at us through loving eyes and worship us. Doing this reminded me of just that. I was going to wait until I lost weight, but who knows when that will be. So for all of the women who are thinking about doing it but are held back because of some type of "flaw", go for it. Be brave.
