Wedding Invitation
To Make or Not To Make?

Having a bit of dilemma trying to decide if we should make the invites, or buy them. Is $300 too much to spend on 70 invites? We're looking at $4.00 a piece.

The picture shown is exactly what I want. I know where to buy them, and can have them asap. I'm just afraid to go to DIY route, spend all the money and time, then hate the finished product.

This is the constant dilemma I face being an Interior Designer.

So what do you guys think? DIY or let someone else do the work!?

personally I am DIY'ing  mine because I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on something that will just get thrown away lol
HOWEVER if those are the exact ones that you want and can afford it then I say go for it! BUT since u are an interior designer I believe u are pretty crafty so ur DIY would probably look really good as well!!!

I'm DIYing mine to save money, and because I am a really crafty person and have wanted an excuse to try out papercrafting. Plus doing DIY means I get exactly what I want. :)

When I first started planning I had so many DIY projects planned that I would never be able to accomplish evererything. So what I ended up doing was prioritizing. If the project seemed like it was going to be more of a chore than fun (knitting shawls for my bridesmaids) or wasn't realistically doable (baking my own wedding cake) I am either buying it or having another of my talented friends handle it for me.

For things that are big money-savers (making my own veil, m making my own favors, doing my own flower arrangements) or just fun projects in general that happen to result in savings (making my invitations, sewing clutch purses for bridesmaid gifts) I am making DIY commitments.

There are so many awesome wedding DIY ideas out there that it's easy to want to make EVERYTHING you see!

I did DIY mine and I think that I saved ALOT of money by doing so!  I was super lucky though because my sis has her major in graphic design.  So, she had a special program just for designing stationary like this.  Depending on the type of invitation you end up doing, they are very time consuming, but so worth it:)  I'd say go with the DIY if you want to:)

I DIY'd my pocketfold invitations and it was sooo time consuming and I had to comprimise with a different idea since I couldn't duplicate the same design. We spent $3.50 per invite and had about 260 to make.

These really look simple enough to DIY. At the time when I found and purchased my invitations I wasn't yet as DIY savy as I am now and the task seemed way to important and time consuming to me. If you have the time I would totally DIY them and save that money for something else.
