Hey Ladies!
I am planning on ordering a photobook with our wedding pictures after the wedding, so I have been researching different companies to order from. Most of the options I have found are US based. Which means expensive shipping, long shipping times (especially if the company ships USPS), and then possibly having to pay taxes and duty when it arrives. I have found 3 Canadian companies that do photobooks for pretty reasonable.
Kodak Canadawww.kodakgallery.caPhotobooks start at $34.99 for a 9"x10.25" photobook with 20 pages.
Free shipping if you pickup your order at a Best Buy or Futureshop.
(5-7 business day processing time)
->Can create the photobook directly on their website
->They don't have custom covers, just hardcover's with a cutout for a photo.
Black's Photographywww.littleblacksbook.caPhotobooks start at $29.99 for a 6"x6" photobook with 100 photos.
Free shipping, if you pickup your order at a Black's Photo location.
(10-14 business day processing time)
->Download free software to create their photobooks
->They do custom covers for the photobook
Photo In Presswww.photoinpress.caShipping is $5.99 (Xpresspost, takes 3-5 business days) for the first book, $3.00 for each additional book
(2 business day processing time)
->Download free software to create their photobooks
->They do custom covers for the photobook
Also, if any of you ladies are having photos printed of your wedding pictures,
don't have it done at Shopper's Drug Mart. The machine they use is not very good, and the photos are horrible quality. I recently had some photos printed (all from high-res files) there, and they looked horrible. Kodak and Black's have far superior quality prints.
I've bought some photobooks from them and found their books are fairly nice and they always have discounts!
You can get varying sizes of books (e.g. 8x8 20pages for $19.99, 8.5x11 20 pages for $29.99, etc).
There's delivery cost since its from the U.S. but the discounts usually more than offsets the shipping cost. Plus the Canadian Dollar has strengthened recently making it cheaper to purchase from the States!
