My wedding speech...what do you think?

Hey Ladies,
I have pretty much finished writing my speech, and I was wondering if you would all help me out and read over it, and give me your opinions. If there is anyone that I should add to it to thank, or anything else I should mention, please feel free to share.

Here is my speech:
"Thank you all for being here today. A lot of our friends and family have traveled far to celebrate this day with us, and we are so grateful.

I would like to thank my parents for everything they have done, and for all of their helping with planning our wedding. We really appreciate everything you have done. I would also like to thank our wonderful wedding party for throwing a wonderful jack and jill, bachelor party and bachelorette…you are such great friends, and we couldn’t have asked for better friends to be by our side today.

I would also like to thank my maid of honour Lindsay who has been such a huge help throughout the planning of Mark & I’s wedding. There have been many times I have frantically called or emailed her, stressing about probably the most minute thing about the wedding, and she was always there to offer me her honest advice. Thank you so much for your love and support, and for standing by my side today.

To my parents: You are my model for what marriage should be after 26 years of laughter, tears, compromise, understanding, dependability, and above all, love. You taught me that love is forgiveness and patience, being together through the good times, and never giving up through the bad.

To my husband: I am so happy to finally be married to you. "

i like it very sweet.. it flows very nicely

I dont' know what u would add..i would say anyone else who helped with the planning nd/or prep... if there is anyone else

the end about your parents is VERY sweet! I think it came out great

Thanks heather! Although I can't really take credit for the part about my parents...I found that on frugalbride.com from a speech sample, but it was just so fitting for my parents that I had to add it in.

I think you should add a little more about your FH... seems you have a lot of thanking of everyone but only one line for your husband, otherwise it's great! :0)  Maybe also just a thank you to everyone else who has helped.

Ack! I totally forgot I have to write a speach!!! Yours is lovely, especially the part about your parents. I agree with putting something more about your husband, maybe thanking him for all his patience and support through the planning process, and all his help if he helped you. Maybe put in a little joke about him getting flowers glued to his fingers :) (if that applies)

I think it sounds awesome...
question though..,are you supposed to thank the vendors in this speech? like waitstaff, coordinator....stuff like that or no?  I THINK you do but I might be wrong..:S

The only other thing I would question is wheter or not you should mention the jack&Jill and Bachelor party's (I mainly ask the questions because I want to know for myself too) ..

I love the part to your parents! SO SWEET!

I realize your vows will already be so meaningful you feel like you don't have anything else to really say, but a simple line maybe that since you've met you've never been so happy and proud to be his wife.  I've even heard brides/grooms bring up a joke or two and even a funny story of how they met and whatnot.  Good luck! :0)

sounds great!  I would thank the vendors at some point too---perhaps make Hubby do it?  :-)   Maybe add a little bit more about being married and spending the rest of your lives together---some sappy stuff.  :-)

hey that sounds good to me! LOL...We really didn't get around to that part of the wedding/reception. No speeches were done...Time flew by so fast and we were just going with the flow!

I also put up the FOOD part for you on my blog...LOL

i love what you have written to everyone. it is very eloquent and mentions and refers to the role every person took in your wedding and how special that is.  i would be teary eyed if i was in your bridal party or your parents from the speech.

i saw in these posts that you were trying to figure out what more to say to your husband.  maybe a mention about where you see yourselves 15, 20 or even 50 years in the future and how you know you will be as happy then as you are today.  just a thought :)

p.s. thanks for your comments about the martini glasses.  i got them at liquidation world for $1.50 a piece I was so happy:)

Uh, so I forget that I need to do this.  Thanks for posting.  I love your speech.  I think you should thank your maid of honor but maybe reduce that section a bit.  Same with your friends thank them but I'd pass on mentioning the jack & jill, bachelor, and bachelorette party.  Just an idea!

Just one thing: it should read "I would like to thank my parents for everything they have done, and for all of their HELP with planning our wedding"

Also maybe shorten the part about your MOH and extend the part about your FH.

Very nice part about your parents!!! Tehy'll be so happy to hear that.
