Wedding Cake
It's Booked!!
So I have FINALLY made a decision on what cake I want. This is it!! I'm not changing my mind again, lol. It is going to be exactly like this, except the cake will be square and only two tiers with only a few roses on top with my monogrammed cake topper. I'm so excited! I'm going to meet with my cake lady tonight, to go over everything with her. We are getting an awesome deal with her, because she makes cakes as a hobby, and because she is the mom of one of our groomsman (and she has known my FI since he was 6).
***UPDATE*** I met with her tonight, and it's officially booked. Yeah!!! |

Looking for decor, favors, cake toppers, etc?
I <3 eFavorMart
Hey Ladies, I just had to post this!!
I've bought quite a few things from eFavorMart. They sell ribbon, decor, pew bows, bubbles, fabric, cake toppers, ring pillows, guestbooks, you name it, they sell it! It's a fantastic online store, and they have great prices and reasonable shipping....plus they ship WORLDWIDE!! The website is www.efavormart.com I have been very happy with everything I have bought from them. I just placed another order with them for pew bow clips and some ribbon. Michaels charges $2.50 per pew bow clip, and I was able to buy 12 pew bow clips for $8.99 from efavormart. So if you are looking for any kind of accessory or decor, definitely check out their online store. |

Ask a Question
Program thank you's?
I have been working on the wording for my wedding programs. I have decided to include a thank you page in the program.
This is the wording on that page so far: (I also included the address and directions to the reception on this page as well) "Thank You Dear friends and family, we are honoured that you are here to share this day with us. We look forward to many memories to come. Love, Mark and Ashley We would also like to thank Fr. Jim S***** for marrying us! He told us in grade 12 that he had “dibs” on our wedding. Thank you! We are especially grateful to our amazing wedding party. We are thankful to have such wonderful people in our lives, and we appreciate all of their help with our wedding. In Loving Memory We lovingly honour our family and friends that cannot be with us. Especially Betty L**, Ernie L**, Danny L**, Steve D** and Myrna S******. They are with us today in spirit and are remembered with love. Reception Info Villa Risi Ristorante 12345 Main Street, Anytown, Ontario Adult reception at 6pm Directions 1. Start out going southeast (left) on Metro Rd N toward Old Homestead Road. 2. Turn left onto Old Homestead Road 3. Turn right onto Woodbine Avenue 4. Turn slight right onto Green Lane E 5. Turn left onto Main Street 6. End at 12345 Main Street Anytown, ON (on the left) Note: There is a divider in the middle of the road, you will have to U-turn at the next intersection. " --->I'm wondering if I should include anything else, and also if I should leave out the thank you to the wedding party on the program, and save that until my speech at the reception? Does it all sound ok? |

Ask a Question
Who has ordered from Oriental Trading?
Hey Ladies,
I'm interested in ordering something from Oriental Trading, and I was just wondering if you have ordered anything from them, and what your experience was like. I remember Soon2bemrsGladden mentioned to be careful when checking out because there is some coupon/deal that they charge your credit card for, and so I'm a bit hesitant to order from them because of that. Help! ---UPDATE---- I looked up some reviews online, and decided to bite the bullet and order them. However, when I was checking out I found out it will cost $17 to ship a $6 item to Canada. So forget that, that's over $30 by the time it's converted to CDN $$. :( |

New Stuff Bought
Seat Markers & BM Gifts
My weekend ritual is to go to Michaels and check out the wedding section and new stuff they got. When I went in today I was shocked to see that they are now carrying some Kate Aspen favours. They had photo coasters, mini "x" and "o" soaps, and heart shaped bottle stoppers. I picked up the photo coasters as part of my MOH's gift because she loves stuff that has inspirational words and such on them. The coasters say "love", "hope", "joy", "bliss" on them. Then when I was browsing the invite aisle where all the Brides magazine stuff is, I saw these seat markers that I have been trying to make myself. They were on clearance, marked down to $4.99, and I used a 40% off coupon and got them for $3!! Sweet! I am going to put them on my and my FI's chairs at the reception. I'm debating whether I should print our names on them or print "Bride" and "Groom on them? What do you think?
So far this is what I have my BM gifts: (I made mini black tote bags with their names on them, to put all the little things i've bought for them in) MOH gift: -photo coasters -Friends The One with the Weddings DVD -pack of two orange candles (one is a flower, the other is a circle) -mini monogrammed notepad with pen -box of 3 lindor chocolates -plus I'm paying for her pedicure that we are getting done the day before the wedding 2 BM's gifts: -box of 3 lindor chocolates -Friends The One with the Weddings DVD -monogram mini note -pack of two candles (one is a flower, the other is a circle) one set is green the other is blue -jewelry to wear on the wedding day, a bracelet and earrings for each girl. What else should I add to the BM gifts? I've spent about $27 on each BM so far. |

Mother of the Bride
Dress is Bought!!
My mom and my aunt and I went to downtown Toronto today (along Spadina Ave), to shop for a mother of the bride dress. We ended up finding a bridal store right near where we parked, called Bridals on Spadina. The woman was soo nice who helped us! She wasn't afraid to be honest with us and suggest styles that my mom would look good in. My mom found this dress and loved it, but she wanted to look around at other stores to find something. We checked out two other stores and didn't find anything she loved nearly as much. So we went back to the first store we went to and she ordered the dress! This is the dress she will be wearing, but in a pink metallic colour. I couldn't find a picture of the dress in the colour, but this is the dress. I'm so excited, one more thing to check off the list! Now she just needs to find shoes and jewelry.
If anyone is looking for bridesmaid or wedding gown dresses in the Toronto area, I highly recommend Bridals on Spadina (Spadina Ave & Richmond). The owner Nicole is very helpful, she does not hesitate to be honest with you, and recommend dresses that will best fit your body type. |

Ceremony
My priest is officially booked!
My priest finally got back to me, and everything is set in stone!! The ceremony has been booked for months, but I have been having the most difficult time getting ahold of him about the rehearsal. So everything is official! The rehearsal is booked for June 4th at 5:30pm, and I just emailed the wedding party to let them know and to make sure the time works for them. Yeah!!

Ask a Question
Invitations...who should get one?
Hey Ladies,
I have a question about invitations. I know anyone over the age of 18 should receive their own invitation, but this is a tricky one. My FI's sister (who is in the wedding party) lives with their mom, and I am wondering if they each should get their own invitation because his sister is in the wedding party, or if her and her mom's can be together (because she is under 18). Another tricky one, is one of my BM's and one of our GM's are in a long-term relationship, so I was wondering if they should each get their own invite, or if it can be addressed together (they don't live together). |
