My FI VERY badly wants to go to Ireland because he has Irish background. Well it is way too expensive for us to go there, plus I'm not exactly keen on flying over the Atlantic ocean....flying over land is fine, but the ocean terrifies me. So we had compromised and decided we were going to go to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Well then we realized neither of us really wanted to go there and I've been there several times already. Sooo then I suggested Las Vegas, and he was thrilled and that was the plan was to honeymoon in Las Vegas. Well now he says he doesn't really want to go to Las Vegas (plus it's not all inclusive, and he kind of was annoyed we'd have to spend more money), sooo I explained to him that pretty much the only place you can get all-inclusive for a cheap price is the Caribbean. I originally wanted to go to the Caribbean for our honeymoon, but he didn't like the idea. Well now he says "research it and see how much". I'm about ready to FREAK OUT!! We've changed our honeymoon plans sooo many times, I don't even friggin care anymore...I'm just soo annoyed that every suggestion I make is good and then he changes his mind later. I don't know where to go. We have about $2,000 to spend on our honeymoon, and want an all-inclusive resort. I tried to research it, but got annoyed. Anyone have any suggestions where to go and approx how much $?

So the company I work for, deals a lot of distributors in the US, and we check the exchange rate everyday, and today my boss said the Canadian dollar is only worth 84 cents US now! And to think just three months ago, the CAD $ and the US$ were at par...this recession is awful. It makes me thankful that I ordered wedding stuff from the US when I did! Had I waited to order my favors, it would have cost me a lot more because I ordered them from the US. The recession isn't quite as bad in Canada, but the US market affects the Canadian market, and everything is going down. Is this affecting anyone else's plans?

OMG I can't express how much my FMIL drives me CRAZY! I've never liked her from the beginning....I just have absolutely no respect for someone who drinks and smokes their life away, makes no effort in her children's lives and then wonder's why we don't call. Umm..hmm..why would we call someone who is a pathalogical liar, who doesn't have enough respect for us, to tell us the truth about things, who always expects us to drive an hour and half to visit HER, when she has only been here to visit us once. It just annoys me, and she always calls, and my FI isn't here a lot because he's got school, and a bunch of other obligations, so I always have to talk to her, and she just drives me crazy! Anyone else can't stand their FMIL's?

I searched ebay for damask fabric, but couldn't find what I was looking for. If you're looking for damask fabric at a reasonable price, check etsy.com, that is where I will be buying mine from. Very reasonable prices. I only found one fabric store in my area that carried it but it was $13 a yard and it wasn't the pattern I wanted. Check it out if you're looking for damask fabric.

Ughh I've been sooo indecisive about flowers lately. Originally all my flowers were going to be green roses. Well when my BM's dresses came in a few weeks ago, they were a lot more "red" than we thought. I was going for raspberry coloured dresses with lime green flowers. So my MOH and I decided green roses would look odd with a red dress, and it reminded us both of Christmas colours. Soo I decided to change the BM's bouquet to cream roses so they look better with the dresses, and then my bouquet and all the centerpieces would still have green flowers. Well now I'm wondering if my bouquet should have green and cream roses to tie in the colour of the girls' flowers. I have no idea what to do, and I'm soo annoyed and frustrated with flowers!! HELP!

I'm beginning to notice their email newsletter that they tell you signup for to get the coupons, only ever has a 20% off entire purchase coupon. I got an email from Michaels a few days ago with the 20% off entire purchase coupon, and then when I went onto the www.flyerland.ca website, they have a 40% off one item coupon for Michaels...weird that they wouldn't have the 40% off coupon in their newsletters...

I've been seeing a lot of posts lately about some of you ladies getting married before your wedding. Before signing up for WBC, I had never heard of anyone doing this. So I was just curious to know why did you/are you getting married before your wedding? I mean no offense to anyone, just curious as to why couples are doing this, as it isn't something that I have heard of here.

Exactly 8 months from today til I'm a Mrs!! So excited! I have no idea what to do right now, most of the big things are booked.

So my original colour scheme was raspberry and lime green. Well then I discovered damask and fell in love...so I added black to my colour scheme. Well then the BM dresses came in and they weren't the raspberry colour I thought they were (I had to pick from a 1 inch swatch, and the store sample was a brown colour), it was more "red" than I expected, so the dresses are a burgundy colour. So then I changed the raspberry to a burgundy colour. Well when my MOH came up to visit she tried on the dress and we decided lime green roses would look weird with a burgundy dress, so we decided to change the BM and the GM flowers and boutonnieres to a cream coloured rose. I'm worried about my colour scheme now...do these four colours go together ok, or does it look weird?

I was just reading some posts from other Bride's about how their BM's are helping them with wedding stuff and DIY projects...and it made me feel sad. My MOH is away at school 2 1/2 hours from here, one of my BM's is away at school 4 hours from here, and my other BM is 1 1/2 hours away from here. So I don't get to experience that with my BM's and it makes me sad that I don't have them here to come shopping with me and help me with my invites and other wedding stuff. It sucks....and my two friends in school won't be back until the end of April..and by then there is only a month before the wedding. Anyone else's BM's live far away?

These are the favour tags I made...they cost a grand total of $1.63! Whoo hoo!

A while ago I saw damask, fell in love and decided to incorporate it into my theme. My invites, menus, all stationary are black, but I'm wondering how else to incorporate black into my theme. The flowers are green roses, and I don't want to go too crazy with the green. The linens are supplied by my reception site, they are nice cream coloured linens...and the site is already very pretty, so we aren't doing a lot of decor. Sorry to ramble, anyway, what other ways can I incorporate the black into my decor and theme?

So I have had my dress forever! Lol...I bought it last September and my wedding is this June, lol. When do I go to have alterations done? I am hoping to drop 10 pounds in the next few months. How far in advance do I go for a fitting for alterations?

Martha Stewart Weddings is by far my fave wedding magazine! I have been looking EVERYWHERE for the Fall 2008 issue but it is no where to be found. Has anyone seen the fall issue anywhere? Shouldn't it be out by now? HELP!

Ok I'm FINALLY finished cutting and glueing and assembling my 72 pocketfolders!! My sweat, blood and tears went into these....ok maybe just my sweat, lol. I am SOOO happy they are finished....now I just have to have the inserts and invite parts printed and I'm done. WARNING to brides thinking about DIYing your invites: You save a ton of money, but be prepared to spend a lot of time making them.

I was thinking about emailing my wedding party a guide to what they are responsible for...but I'm wondering if I should bother and if it would seem bridezilla-ish?

So the past couple evenings and today I have been watching movies while cutting out all my invitation folders, programs, and escort cards. This is what the escort cards will all look like. I went out and bought a proper paper cutter this morning (yeah 50% off coupon at Michaels!), so all the paper is cut straight. What do you think? I'm wondering if I should put something inside of them, because they are folded cards and nothing is inside....my menu's are separate cards that will be on each plate...so I don't know what to have inside the escort card, or if it should just be blank.

3. Should we register?
YES! Even if you own a home and already and don't really need anything, there are a lot of older guests who don't like to give money, and a lot of guests like to give the bride and groom a physical gift. If you already own a home, consider registering for a few gifts, and then have family members spread where you are registered by word of mouth.

4. Should I include registry information with the invitations or save the dates?
No, this implies that the guest is obligated to get a gift. The best way to do this is register for a free wedding website (such as www.mywedding.com), and include the website address on your invitation and save the dates, and have your registry information on the website. You can also have family members spread the word where you are registered.

5. How do I register?
Discuss with your fiance where you would like to register. Call the store(s) you are considering registering and make an appt for you and your FI to go in register. When you go in they normally ask for details, like when your wedding date is, your email address, etc, and then most stores will give you a scan gun to scan products you want on your registry.

Here is my completed card box (I don't think I ever posted pics of it completed). I think it turned out well, I added a engagement ring napkin holder around the box too. I also started working on my crystal tree. I ordered my crystal beads on ebay, 250 for $10, bought the base for $10 from Michaels, the branches actually had fall leaves attached to them, but I pulled them off, each branch was 94 cents each, and I bought 6 branches...it might need a few more, we'll see once I spray paint the branches silver and add the crystals. I'm also going to spray paint the base a glossy black colour...I just have to get the paint.

For those of you who are DIYing a crystal tree and are on a budget, I found a great ebay seller who sells glass crystal beads for dirt cheap!! I bought 25 beads for $1.00 and shipping to Can and the US is also really really cheap! Here is the link to their ebay store:

I found other sites out there, but they charge about $6.00 a strand and it's recommended to use about 15-20 strands....I just didn't have the budget for that...especially considering I will only be using the tree for one day and then it will either get thrown out or given away.

I was just reading another post by another bride that said to book honeymoon 9 months in advance? I thought the honeymoon should be booked 4 months or more in advance. How far should it be booked, when did you book?

Hey Ladies! I joined a gym!! I went for my first consult last night....the first time you go you have to meet with a trainer to talk about your goals. So I discussed mine, and then at the end he tried to sell me personal training lessons...that's only $262 a month! Lmao....I'm not Madonna...I can't afford a personal trainer. So I did some searching and found an online personal trainer that is free that tells you what your target heart rates should be and what equipment to use and it gives you different workout plans for each day of the week. So my BM's dresses came in about a week ago, and I went to pick up my FSIL's on saturday. They are the colour I picked, but I had to chose from a tiny one inch sized colour swatch, so they are a little more red than I wanted. I was going for a raspberry colour, but the dresses are more like a burgundy colour. The flowers the girls were originally going to have were green roses. But now that the dresses aren't the colour I thought they would be, the green roses don't look right with the dress, so I'm changing the colour of the bridesmaid's bouquets and the groomsmen's boutonnieres to cream colour roses. This is what the BM's bouquets will look like, except only 12 roses.
