Ask a Question
How is the Bridal Party getting from Ceremony to Reception?

We are researching different limo companies at this point. We're looking up party bus, limo, and town-car prices. We're just not sure if we want to pay the kind of money they're asking for a half hour ride. Although, it is our wedding day...we feel like we should. And we want to ride and celebrate on the way to the reception with our close friends who are in the bridal party.

How are other brides arranging this? Are there any other unique or cheaper options?
I know my cousin had someone drive them in their camper...but we don't know anyone for this option.

My fiance saw that one of the companies has a trolley. Of course he wants to get this! If it wasn't a half hour ride, maybe I'd give in (probably not, but it not an option!). He said "But look how happy the bride and groom look! It's because they got the Trolley!" :)

We are having the cermony and reception at the same place so I don't have to worry about it but if we were traveling then I think I would opt for a hummer/SUV limo. But I would ask my bridal party how they feel about it. I think that they should help out with the cost and if they don't want to put out the extra money then I would let the carpool together. It would be up to them and their choice. I'm already paying for their nails, hair and the makeup artists traveling fees so if we had to travel I just couldn't afford to put out more money!

LOVE the trolley idea (it may cost as much as the limo though)

I actually disagree with bradley111(sorry!) I wouldn't feel right asking them to pay for transportation on your wedding...if you can afford it, even if it is tight, I personally think this is something that is worth it (half hour ride or not) you just got married- you should be happy and enjoying it with your husband and bridal party in the moments after- plus its great if there are places en route that you want to stop and take a few pics

We rented a dual axel hummer limo. It was very pricey, but after the ceremony we are going to have pictures taken. and then will arrive at the reception. We will probably be in the limo for 2 hours. It will be worth it for the pictures, and our friends will have a great time.
we have to decide on transportation after the reception....im not paying another 1K or more to rent something for us. Im thinking we will just ride the hotel shuttle with our guests....but, who knows.
Then we have transportation to the airport on Monday for our honeymoon....that we are doing an airport limo it will be cheaper than parking for a week.
Good luck, but a tip....limo drivers are starving right now....you can negotiate we got 600 or something taken off the cost of ours.

I love the trolley too! I wanted the trolley for my wedding but it was booked on my wedding day. Just to give you a comparison price: It would have cost us $270 to get the trolley for 2 hours. Instead, we had to rent a limo SUV for $325! I'm not happy about that, but it was the cheapest option we had left. I would have rather had the trolley! It holds more people.

When I met with my photographer (over a year ago) he had taken pics of a wedding party on a trolley and I fell in love. We orginally thought about a larger limo or a party bus but once I saw the pic we both agreed that's what we wanted. It was just about the same price as the limos we looked at. For us, it's picking up me and the bridesmaids then taking us to the ceremony. Then after the ceremony it's taking the entire bridal party around (we will be taking pictures at 2 different places) then it is taking us to the reception.

Having the bridal party together to celebrate and to take pictures was something important to us. This way everyone will be together for the pictures and we won't have to worry about anyone being lost or being late. I would never consider asking the bridal party to help pay for it though.

I originally had my heart set on renting a trolley, but then we found out that the local trolley company does not allow alcohol.  So, we rented a limo bus.  It was pretty pricey, but FH and I both really wanted something that would comfortably hold our entire bridal party plus their significant others.  We are going to ride around for about 3 hours between the ceremony and reception and stop at various places to get pictures.  It's going to be a ton of fun!
