Can the place cards also be the favors?

I was thinking of doing glass votives with vellum and ribbon around them with the guest's names and table numbers as the place cards. Can these also be the favors?

Absolutely! Functional favors are totally en vogue. They're cheaper, and they take place of paper place cards people will just toss, so they aren't wasteful.
