RSVP Respond by date???

How long before your wedding date, is your respond by date on the RSVP cards?

I'm not sure how long to leave, and I am working on them now!

Also while we are on the topic of invitations, how long before the wedding do you mail out your invitations? I'm thinking 3 months?

My wedding is August 27 and I asked an RSVP date of August 5.
I am sending my invitations out on May 18 but only because the Canada post is supposed to go on Strike. Usually you are supposed to send them out 2 months before.

I know someone is getting married September 3rd and she is sending her invite out the second week of june and mine wedding is september 24 and I am sending mine out the third week of june

I sent mine out about 3 1/2 months before the wedding, and i think the rsvpy was 3 weeks before the wedding.
I actually just asked my caterer when she needed her final number by, and asked the place i was renting tables/chairs from what the latest date i could alter my order was.
Then added a week, because I assumed people would be terrible about RSVPing and I would have to call most, lol.

My guests were actually very well behaved, and all but 2 RSVP'd by the due date :)

I need to finazlie everything with my vendor on June 21st. So I originally requested a RSVP date by June 20th, but there was a misprint on the invites and it says May 20th, so I guess I should get them out soon!!!

I wanted to send my invites out end of April as i had an RSVP of 3rd June, there was problems with the printing so now they willbe going out beginning of May with an RSVP of 3rd July. My wedding is 3rd September, give me plenty of time to chase and sort out last few details.

I had my RSVP date to be exactly one month before the wedding.  Good thing too, because I had to chase SEVERAL slackers down and STILL couldn't get my answers (especially about the plus one's)

THANKS! I think I will go with 1 month before the wedding! That should leave enough time to chase people down!

I did my response date 1 month before the wedding (it was today actually) and I only got responses from 35% of the invitations i sent out . I'd say a month is good, so you can track people down and still have time to get info into vendors
