Yeah, maybe too much. But it's your super bowl, do what you want! (my fiance's fav answer)
Maybe church ceremony and outdoor reception (depending on where you are getting married)? However if your ceremony is outdoors in nautre (park, beach, lake, ect)  you may be able to save in decorations vs. and empty church that needs more.

we are getting married in a chapel that is upstairs and then down stairs is the recpetion area but we are extending the reception outside into the garden area and that is where we will have the buffet set up under a white tent since our wedding is on the hottest day here in seattle i figured a lot of people would probably wonder outside anyways.

Find an outside chapel like I did. :-)

No, but seriously...I think it'd be cool if you got married in the church and had the reception outdoors on a nice big lawn somewhere.

I am having my ceremony at my church and I am having my reception outside. I dont think it would be complicated just start now and have everything very organized.

We are getting married inside the Church and our reception hall is a 20 minute drive away at a lodge. You can have the Church ceremony and then plan your outdoor reception elsewhere. It's your day so you can do whatever you want.

I had the same struggle, we decided to do an outside wedding and an indoor reception.  The wedding would last maybe an hour and a half max with photos included.  Whereas, a reception lasts longer and could have a lot more decorations and music involved.  We were thinking of the money side of things and our outdoor wedding cost less than renting a church.  Also, if you decide on an outdoor wedding weather could be an issue, but we found a place with a gazebo/ over hang for the guests to sit under just in case it rains.  Plus during the hotter months people might struggle, ours is in August so we are providing water to drink during the ceremony.

Best wishes!
