I went to one about a month ago and I got selected to do a cake dive. It was a long cake with big diamond rings with the alphabet on it. I was one of 50 brides selected. There were only 25 rings A-Z (not including X). I dove in it and it was sooo gross but worth it! I got J and won a prize. I will post up pictures soon. I was covered with cake LOL! I was ready! LOL! I kept posing like bridezilla and lots of people took pictures of me! LOL! I won a night in a nice hotel. I was grateful I even gotten a chance to do this. It was fun!

We all spend $ on our wedding. Can we keep our receipts and do a write off on our taxes next year? HMMMMMMM!!!!!!

Are you going to sauder your rings together?


My engagement ring is already beautiful and he's getting me two bands (one to wear first, then the ring, then one for the top) . I don't know if he'll have them saudered before the wedding or after it. Are you doing yours.....

ok so originally, I thought of my two boys to be our ring bearers. I have an 11 year old brother and I really didn't have anything for him to do. So I thought that he would be a good bible boy. Then I ran into this picture. How about my brother being the ring bearer and my boys be the pagers? Hmmmm....I need some help!

I have brought a card board wishing well. Someone told me to rent the lock box one from somewhere. That makes it a little safer but who is it to say that someone who really wants to steal it, that they won't just steal the whole thing and still get the contents? I'm pretty worry about that. I know some of you are making your own but do you have any worries?

Ok so I found out how much it'll cost just for the dancers to dance a 4 minute dance. They want to charge me $250! And that's for 5 people. Now, they did say that 3 could dance for $150 but that's really a lot. I just don't know what to do b/c that kind of crushed my idea so now I have to think of something else.....


I am very unhappy about that.

I've seen plenty of garter tosses and they were all different. Some had the bride sitting by themselves and some had the bride sitting on the best man. Is there a sertain reason?

My gown looks like my bridesmaids dress except it's the opposite colors. I'm torn about my veil. I've brought a veil but it's long and not long enough to be called a cathedral veil and one layer. and then there is the old faithful birdcage veil...which one would you pick? I don't want my veil to conflict with the back of my dress....which one?

Music and dancing is very important to me. Unfortunatly, my finance doesn't dance at all so I'm having trouble with this. It's actually breaking my heart. I wanted to do a surprise dance (you know, the start off first slow dance then end with a fast dance) but he told me hell no. So I was thinking of getting some black toe shoes and doing our first wedding dance with him like I'm a ballerina. Then hiring some dancers to do the rest. What do you think?

I'm thinking about having our party together. They call it a Jack and Jill Party. We are getting married on a Friday so the rehearsal stuff is all on Thursday. So I was thinking that we should do our bachelor and bachelorette party together and go out. Thursday is usually "ladies" night but I think that it'll be fun! Besides, we are in our late 20s and early 30s and most of everybody is married. What do yall think?

I'm doing plenty alternatives. One is instead of having maid or matron of honors we are having sisters of honor. We both have one sister. Instead of having flower girls or jr bridemaid, I have two ring barers. Instead of doing an unity candle or sand ceremony, we are giving my sons an unity necklace that they could wear and keep. Instead of throwing a bouquet, I am doing a cake charm pull.

This is his ring. I love it b/c there is three stones, past, present, future but it also represent the new love in his life - me, and my two sons.

The church I've picked is a Catholic one. My parents got married there and one of my children were picked to go to school there so I thought it would've been perfect. We do go there every now and then but I'll say about at least 12 to 16 times a year. Do you know that they are charging us $500 for us to have our wedding there? They said that it's their law for only church members to get in free but you have to be a member for 6 months before the wedding. We just made it to the month but not day and they are still charging us. What would you do? They also cut our wedding party saying only like 22 to 23 people could be in the wedding.

I'm torn between having my boys in a tux or knicker suits. what do you think? They are 4 and 5 years old and we are having a 1920s era feel to it. That's why I'm leaning more on knicker suits with the hats.

I wish I would have known about this site way before last week because this would have been very nice to put my thoughts on and get ideas while I am brain storming.

I originally wanted a petite four cake with a small cake at the top. I knew this could be expensive so I decided just to have it made by family members for our wedding rehearsal dinner.

The cake is going to be round but in tiers. The tiers is the pearl cake stand tiers. Each level will have a different design. Sugar butterflies will be on it. The topping will be buttercream - I wanted whipped cream but the baker didn't have a fridge to keep it in. The cake is white with almond flavor, and the filling will be bavarian cream. MMMMM!!!!

The top of the cake will have feathers and a fiber optic lighted piece on top.

The cake table will be adorned with big and small diamonds and pearl necklaces.

To cut cost, you can get a cake designer to make a faux cake but have the top real so you can cut into it. You can have it just for show but then you can buy a nice cheap cake and have it plated and set by the peice of art that would last through out your reception. We were going to do this but our family decided to help us with a nice cake.

I pretty much made all of my decorations and things. I will post them as soon as I can. Come to think about it. The theme is Butterflies (french for his last name), diamonds and pearls. The colors are black and ivory. And I am using no -(yes I said it) NO! flowers - mostly feathers. I love the 20s era so plenty of the things were inspired by the 1920s without even knowing until resently.


1- The runner is a 3 inch ribbon. We caught our pearl beads from Mardi Gras. The vase is from Wal-Mart, just 98 cents, the clear iridescent and white rocks, a little light, and one black and one ivory ostrich feather and there you have it.

2- On this peice, It's the same layout, except I brough some fiber optic centerpeices and they were only like 6 bucks and came with batteries.

Yes I am alternating my peices. I'm not finished with the tables b/c instead of having a favor table, I'm throwing a few (of the favors on each table) which is black and ivory and of course in the theme of butterflies, diamonds, and pearls. This will minimize grabbing too many favors at the favor tables and so that everyone would get to see each favor and I can minimize my spending by only getting just enough and not buy something for each person and the other people who didn't come. Now, if I have extra left over or if people don't pick up the favors, then it's every favor for itself. LOL!

It's in ivory but there's also an obi bow in the back just like the bridesmaids' dress does...

Our invitations are our picture in black and white. I will try to post a pic of it. It's soooo hard to get addresses these days ain't it? AAAHHH, it's fustrating!

I was trying to find something elegant that could fix all types of body shapes. Perfect dress.



I was thinking about a feathery hair piece but it might be too much.
