DIY Stem wrap?

Does anyone know where I can get some inexpensive rhinestone ribbon/links like this to create my own stem wrap? Or, how could I make this myself? Would I be able to just take a piece of ribbon & glue a whole bunch of rhinestones in a line like this?


EDIT: I found the 2 silver strands on ejoyce.com. The one with the silver ribbon is only appx $8 a yard and the other one is nearly $20. I think that the 2nd one may look better than the one that's the silver ribbon. What do you ladies think? I was thinking that I may get a piece of hot pink satin fabric and wrap that around the stem, then wrap the crystal strand around it (so that the hot pink will "peek out" between the crystals. If I do this, how many yards do you think I would get? At $20 yard, I do not want more than I really need. Would 1 yard be enough, or should I try 2?

have a look at your local craft & fabric stores. they usually sell rhinestone trims.

I bet scheri gave you an awesome link! I couldn't find them either.. i went with the pearl wraps at michaels. They're already made you just slip em on. I wound up falling in love with them. I'm gonna go look at that link myself lol

Try ebay, you can probably find yards of the rhinestones. :) Good luck.

Ok, now you are after putting an idea in my head! I want to do this but I am not paying the $175 or whatever it is for this even though it looks gorgeous so if anyone has any ideas or tips please send it my way! PLEASE!

What about buying  ribbon of your choice and a pack of rhinestones, and gluing them on to the ribbon (super glue would probably be best to ensure no gems fall off.) It might be frustrating to glue each individual rhinestone on but hey its whole lot cheaper! Not to mention you can come up with your own designs, all the way around, zig zag, or scatter them. Thats what I'm going to do.
