annacy's Purple Wedding Blog - Wedding By Color http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy Wed, 03 Dec 2008 20:59:45 PST en-us Ring - I got my FH ring today!!! http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/33018 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/33018 Thu, 06 Nov 2008 22:33:00 PST So today John and myself were walking though the mall, just trying to kill time before he went to work when we stopped in at a Mappins store. We told the lady that we were just looking and she showed us some rings. When John saw this one he was like that's the one I want. So he tried it on and it fit!!! Titanium is really hard to fit so the fact that it fit him was great, no ordering needed. Plus we got it for 40% off!!! So we got a great deal for a fantastic ring that he loves. I'm sooo happy and so is the budget girl in me :D It's a Titanium ring with a diamond inset. When we get enough money down the road we are going to get custom made rings done. But for now this is awsome. ]]> Ask a Question - So what music have you picked?? http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/31017 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/31017 Thu, 23 Oct 2008 02:01:00 PST OK, It's late and I can't sleep so I went on youtube to check out wedding songs and I couldn't believe it. Almost all the videos I looked at had slow slow instrumental songs for everyones walk down the isle, not just the bride! I was wondering what you girls are picking for your party to walk down the isle too?? We were looking for Jazz music but not the normal, over heard songs, lol ]]> Monograms - How do you make them or where can I get one http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/27517 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/27517 Mon, 29 Sep 2008 15:39:00 PST I see alot of you girls have monograms and I was wondering how you make them or where I can get one. I love the look of them :D ]]> Cake - We Made a Cake for Our Friends Wedding http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/26790 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/26790 Thu, 25 Sep 2008 10:19:00 PST So a couple of our good friends got married and it was pretty low key. They ask FH and myself to make a speciality cake of a Mark V Diving Helmet. Both my FH and her husband are Rescue Divers with the CCG. I thought it would be cool to put up an unusual cake for weddings. The whole cake was edible, exculding the carboard we used to stack the cakes and the wooden support beams for the headpiece of course. It was alot of fun to make and it was the first cake FH and myself worked on together. No one at the reception could believe that it was a cake until the Bride and Groom cut into it and started passing out it out, lol. We did learn that Hawaiian wedding cake ( its kinda like a fruit/pound cake) is too heavy of a cake to do this type of cake. But after all the work, it tasted Fantastic :D ]]> OMG! One Year today!!! - and I'm getting Married http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/24809 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/24809 Fri, 12 Sep 2008 11:42:00 PST So I can't believe that in one year and 3 hours from this post I will be getting married! That's only 365 days!!! Where has the time gone??? I can't believe it. Is it wrong to be soooo excited when there is still a full year to go??? ]]> Woh, What a week - Busy Busy Busy http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/23834 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/23834 Sat, 06 Sep 2008 10:50:00 PST So John and I have been uber busy these last couple of weeks. So far we have booked the ceremony and reception sites. Got a JP to perform the ceremony (we hope, Johns mom has been taking care of this), Booked our Baker for our cake and we went to taste some of her cakes too. MUMMMM I think that had to be my favourite part. This sunday we are going to our first wedding expo and then I will be going to try on wedding dresses for the first time with my mom the week after the wedding show :D WE also have an apt with the florist to discuss flowers, kinds and of course cost! John has decided that since he doesn't get to see my wedding dress till the day of the wedding I shouldn't get to see something too. His pick, the wedding cake. Which I am wayyyy ok with seeing as he used to be a professional pastry chef. I got to taste the cakes then was sent to the car so they could discus the design. These are the cakes we tasted. 1. White Cake with Lemon Butter cream filling 2. Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Cream Cheese filling 3. White Cake with Chocolate gnash 4. Chocolate Cake with Grand Marine Butter cream My Favorite was the White with the Lemon Butter cream, It was sooo good. My second was the Chocolate Cake with the raspberry Cream cheese filling. I thought the Chocolate Ganshe over powered the white cake and I'm not a huge fan of grand marine(orange) so that was my lest favourite, However it was Johns 1st pick (he really likes orange). So I know the the bottom two teris (yha so cant spell) are the Lemon, the 3rd tear is the Raspberry cream cheese and the top tear is the Grand Marine, other than that I have no clue what shape or colour the cake is going to be. I cant wait to see it on our wedding day. In other Non wedding news, I quit my job. I found out that I'm not really that good at selling. Customer Service, I'm great at but pushing products on people, not so much. I didn't want to add to my stress level (If I don't sell a certain number of products a month I could be fired) so I said, Screw this and Quit. I'm going to get my first aid again and apply at the Hospitals to work as a Nurse's Aid again. So here's hoping I can get a job there so we can save some extra cash for the wedding, cause everyone knows weddings always end up costing more then you budget for, lol. But until then I am on the island taking care of Johns parents house and dog while they are on their first vacation in 25 years (they went to China!) So I think that's about all for now :D ]]> Backgrounds for your blog - Frustrated!!! I can't seem to get a background working!! http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/18184 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/18184 Sun, 27 Jul 2008 09:24:00 PST Ok so I've been trying for many a days now to get a freaking background to work on my page and no matter what I do or where i post, it never works. Thanks in Advance :D Lets see if this works.... fingers crossed :D ]]> Invitation - I think we have a winner! http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/17577 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/17577 Mon, 21 Jul 2008 20:52:00 PST John and I are going for a little bit of a theme wedding, as in it's not going to be the main focus but have hints of it here and there. We are looking at the 1930's because both of us love jazz and some (not all, lol) of the fashions of that time, mainly John wanting to ware a pin strip suit and a fedora (this combo can also be called a Zoot Suit). So when we were going though one of the Invitation mags that I got sent to me and we saw the "Honeymoon" invite we both fell in love with it. I've asked for a sample to be sent to us so we don't order and realise that we don't like the real thing. What do you all think??? ]]> Bridesmaids - Here They Are :D http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/16502 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/16502 Sat, 12 Jul 2008 00:08:00 PST Here are my three wonderful friends and bridesmaids. I've decided to forgo the MOH as it would be way to hard to chose one over the other two. I've known Shawna, Shannon, and Robyn since High School and they are all wonderful. I just can't fuly explain how great they are. And if they are reading this... YHA yha yha, I'm a sap, you all should know that by now!!! ]]> Ask a Question - How much is too much for a Bridesmaid Dress?? http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/14987 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/14987 Sat, 28 Jun 2008 00:51:00 PST Ok Ladies, I'm looking though tons of internet sites at Bridesmaids dresses and gasping at some of the prices. What is the normal cost for just the bridesmaid dress? My girls are paying for their own so I want to keep it low for their sake. So I guess my main question is What is everyone paying for their bridesmaids Dress? the average cost? ]]> Ceremony Site - This is where we hope to have our ceremony ;D http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/13854 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/13854 Tue, 17 Jun 2008 16:29:00 PST Both of us are really into the water and since our wedding will be happening in Victoria we thought that Saxes Point Park in Esquimalt would be the perfect place. You have the grass, flowers already there and a beautiful ocean view. What do you guys think??? The only thing is, I dont know how to make sure it's ok for us to use this site, not to mention make sure that the site isnt double booked! I mean how bad would that be?! ]]> The Proposal - Ta Da!!! http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/13180 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annacy/milestones/13180 Tue, 10 Jun 2008 12:12:00 PST So seeing as this is my first post I thought I would start out with the proposal. John and I have been together for over a year now. We just bought a condo together and took possession of it on May 30, which is also my birthday. I was so excited that I was running around the place snapping as many photos as I could. John was just standing around and I didnt take any notice, lol. Finally he said " Will you stop taking photos!" I stopped and gave him a big hug and kiss. Thinking wow, this is the best birthday ever. Then John says " It's great to have this place with you, my girlfriend, but I would love it even more if I was going to share this place with my wife. Will you marry me?" and pulls out this ring. I was holding his arm so he couldn't go down on one knee (which later he told me, what he was going to do) I cried, kisses him, cried some more and then he was like "So that's a Yes right?" I laughed and said "Yes!" Turns out this birthday wasn't just great it was Fabulous! ]]>
