So...After my soilder completed basic and job training he was sent from our home in Hampton, Va to Colorado Springs, CO. Almost immediately after arriving at his permanent duty station he was informed that he would be leaving for Iraq for a year. I flew out to see my honey one last time on Valentine's day 2010. I was violently ill from the altitude adjustment but he insisted on taking me out for this beatiful dinner. At dinner, it seemed that he was "interviewing" me one last time to ensure that he wanted to make such a big step. My honey asked me if I wanted to go to a lookout point with beautiful rock formations following dinner. I declined and asked him to take me back to the hotel as I was still not feeling well. I turned to put on my seat belt and when I looked up there was a beautiful ring in my face. I aked my honey, "is this what I think it is"? He nodded and began to cry. And then I began to cry. My honey seemed to have lost his voice. I told him that I needed to hear him say it. My honey asked me the most beautiful thing I'd ever heard, "Will you marry me? I love you". Of course I said yes and we cried together. Five days later we were married at the Justice of the Peace. Five days after that I was on a plane back to Virginia and the following week he was sent to Iraq.
