Wedding Gift Registry
What to do about the registry?
I am planning an engagement party and also a house warming party. I'm probably going to combine them, but what I need to know is: Do you usually do the wedding registry for the engagement party? Or the bridal shower? I don't want to be rude and expect gifts from people. I just don't know when you're supposed to do all this. One friend told me to do it for the engagement party so that my guests could use that list for the housewarming too? What do you think?

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
To buy, or not to buy?
I bought my fiancé a ring to wear as an engaged man. I know it's not traditional, but we aren't traditional anyway. My question is, do I buy him another ring to wear as a married man? Honestly, if I did by him another ring, it would be the same metal and probably the same style and very similar looking to the one he has now. I think I hit the nail on the head when I bought the one he's wearing now. The money aspect of buying another ring isn't a concern, I just don't know whether to get another ring. What do you guys think?

Wedding Music And Songs
Oh that dang song list...
So my fiancé and I were jotting down some songs that we really want to play at our reception. Going through my iTunes, I found a couple of Pitbull songs and a T-Pain song that I thought would be fun to dance to and he isn't a fan of that genre, so now he wants nothing to do with the music. He thinks the reception isn't just some big party and I do agree with that, but I also know that receptions, while they are a celebration of our marriage, do involve dancing and those are songs that I want to dance to. Not just songs that I think would make a good party. Am I right or am I just wanting to have the prom I never went to?

Engagement
He made the happiest place on earth truly magical :)
Our favorite place in the world is DIsneyland. Something about it just makes you happy and it's a great place to go to escape the stressful life of a college student/full time employee. So this year, on our 3rd anual trip, my wonderful boyfriend of almost 3 years suprised me with the most beautiful right I've ever seen, making him my wonderful fiancé! :) This man has been there for me through everything and was there when I almost literally made him jump through hoops; I could've have found anyone better.
For Christmas, Disneyland has a special lighting of the castle and they do it about every 30 min. We had planned on seeing it at 7:30, but at 6:25 we were in that area and there was a perfect viewing spot still available so we decided to see it early. For weeks, he'd been asking me random questions so I kinda thought he would propose at the climax of the lighting ceremony. And when I heard him messing around in his suit jacket pocket (he wears this jacket casually all the time so I didn't think anything of it when he chose to take it into the park that day) I thought for sure he was going to do it before the lighting was over. So when the ceremony ended and he hadn't popped the question, I was crushed. Then five minutes later, as we're discussing what ride to go to next, he gets down on his knee and proposes. It was truly magical :) And he picked the perfect place and time to do it. He explained that he was going to do it during the ceremony but I was very distracted with trying to take pictures and he wanted to surprise me. Of all the stories we're made over the years, this is by far my favorite to tell <3 |
