First Dance Song.... not really feeling it...

From the moment we got engaged, my FH has had our first dance song picked out. Me on the other hand didn't have it picked out right away and when I found out what he wanted for our first song I thought ok. He wants Lost by Faith Hill (First song playing on my profile).

Now I am not really feeling it for some reason. I mean it is our song, it came out when we started dating and the words explained our relationship so much and made it our song. But I still don't know. I guess why I am so hesitant about it, is because its a really nice song but it doesnt give me goosebumps anymore like it did before and I want that for our first dance! Kind of like the wow factor type thing. I may sound so dumb right now lol but I just want the first dance to be really special.

So what do you girls think? Should I just give in and let him have the song he really wants and he pretty much wants that song nothing else so he won't even consider anything else. How did you guys come up with your first dance song?? What do you think of the song my FH wants?

FH and I chose Love Story, by Taylor Swift because of the music video. It was just soooo gorgeous! We decided to incorporate that theme into our wedding and have that same kind of feeling. I don't know the song you're talking about, but maybe you can talk to your FH and see if he'd consider having something else. Men really aren't tooo involved in planning, so if its really important to him maybe you should compromise, and let him have the first dance, and you pick a romantic song for the last dance of the night.

I have never hear that song before and it gave me goose bumps listening to it on your profile!!  BUT, if you don't like it, you shouldn't go with it.  A friend of mine let her FH pick their first dance song.  Now every time they hear it (2 years later), he gets all emotional and she just gets irritated that she didn't get to pick it.  You should both enjoy the song.  Good luck!

I agree with mollie2383. It should be a song that makes you BOTH emotional. Its a really nice song though..He has good taste :)

I think its super sweet that he would pick out a song like that and want it.. but you should like the song.  If it meant something to you then, maybe there is some importance to it. But maybe to start your married life you could suggest getting a new "song" that you both agree to.  Then for your last dance or some other time in the evening also play Lost?
