My husband and I are big Alabama fans. I'm typing this as we watch the BAMA vs. South Carolina game as a matter of fact. Anyways, he really wanted to have a Alabama themed cake, so this is what we came up with... WE LOVE IT! and yes, the hat on top really was a cake!

My caterer was awesome! I absolutely love how my cake turned out, and it tasted great on top of that! This picture was just a candid someone emailed me... I promise, the wedding pictures ARE coming!

Back from the Honeymoon

I'm back! we had a great time. I have so many pictures to post, a lot of stories to tell, no, everything did not go as planned, but regaurdless of the little details, we were still married at 2:00! I'm completely happy and can't wait to post all about it! We don't have the internet at our new house so my posts may be few and far between. I get the proofs back from the photographer next week, so I'll post as soon as I can!

Lady falls overboard
The search for a female passenger suspected to have fallen off the Carnival Holiday on Monday night continues this morning, Carnival Cruise Lines said.
The missing woman is reportedly Michelle Vilborg of Bay Minette. According to Carnival, a passenger reported hearing a splash about 11 p.m. when the 1,452-passenger ship was about 70 miles south of Pensacola. Currently on a five-day cruise to Mexico, Holiday had left Alabama Cruise Terminal in Mobile on Monday and is expected to return on Saturday. After the passenger reported hearing the splash, Carnival said Holiday's crew immediately returned the ship to the location where Vilborg was suspected to have gone overboard and lowered lifeboats to search for her. Holiday's crew also conducted a cabin-by-cabin search and confirmed that she was missing. The U.S. Coast Guard has been notified and is aiding in this morning's efforts, according to Carnival. The incident is the second in less than 24 hours for Carnival. National reports say that 46-year-old Larry Miller was rescued early Monday after falling from Carnival Inspiration, which is based in Tampa. The reports said that Miller had reportedly climbed a railing to try to get a better view as the ship neared Tampa. HOW DUMB IS THIS!!!!!! ACT CIVILIZED PEOPLE!!!! |

Wedding Cake
never posted about my cake!
My cake, My cake, oh My cake! I love my cake, I can't wait to see it in person! I mixed and matched from a few pictures and this is what I came up with.
From picture 1 we have the main idea, it will be a round cake (all my friends have done square, and although that is really in right now, I went round to be different from all of them!) Also, my cake will be 4 tiers instead of three, but will also have the alternating swirls and dots. From picture 2 I took the ribbon Idea, I am going tomorrow to buy my ribbon (yeah I know, last minute, but I have already bought tons of ribbon, and I don't like the color it changes once it hits the icing **keep this in mind when buying your ribbon...it will get darker*** Also, from picture 1 I will have rose petals around the base of my cake, and on the top. from the picture labeled base I got just that, and only that...the base it is sitting on My topper will also be an A like in the picture, however mine is just silver, no rhinestones, It is in that font though. The rest are just pictures of cakes that I love. i wish I could have a bunch of cakes becuase I like so many different things, oh and check out that big "A" cake... It's HUGE! How many people did they have at that wedding?!?!?!?!?! |

Favors
started them this morning
I may have started working on my favors this morning, but I rallied the troops and we finished them tonight! I think they turned out way better than I was expecting! Only took 19 bags of M&M's ! HA! Actually I think my mom may have eaten one bag of them, they were sneaking them all night!

You know you're getting married when
your room looks like this
Ladies, I don't care if you DIY projects every waking hour of every day!
Reality sets in when you clean out your room, move everything out, and have a moment by yourself to stand in your doorway and remember all the times you've had in that room. To look into that empty space and realize that the room you are looking at is no longer yours and undoubtfully, secretly in your moms head, there are allready plans for what to do with the extra space as soon as you leave on your honeymoon. Needless to say I've had many of those moments, I now keep that door closed. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited but it really sank it this weekend!!!! Just books and what nots left to move this week! |

Gifts came in!
I found these on EBAY... it was WAY too simple. I Love me some ebay and I actually had a little free time a few weeks ago and I found these. I got all 5 of them including the monogram and shipping for $48 ! ! ! !
You can't tell me that isn't a good deal! The ebay sellers name is: trotter06 They didn't take long to get here and I really like them. If I could change anything, I would want a longer handle. It is definately a tote! |

last minute projects
getting married on Saturday!
finally, the week is here! I can't wait. No cold feet, no loose ends, that I know of, just a few little things that are at this point, take it or leave it!
I have been working on a basket for my programs to go in this afternoon, it is almost finished, pictures will come later I've filled favor boxes with pink m&m's this afternoon, you should have seen the guy at the counter when I bought them. I actually got laughed at! I finished my programs this morning, I LOVE the way they turned out, totally DIY, no template, just me and my laptop. Didn't turn out quite like I wanted them, I had the monogram at the top as one of my previously posted monograms, but I saved oh I don't know... HALF the money on getting the printed if I took out the little pink A at the top, so away it went! Well, I wanted to get on here really quick and post my progress, but I've got to get back to work :) |
