DIY Wedding
Pillow, basket, bouquet, & more!
I highly encourage every bride to at least take a shot at DIY stuff for their wedding if they are trying to cut costs. All of my materials were bought at Hobby Lobby. I bought a yard of hot pink satin material for $2.99. A yard was enough for my pillow, basket, and quite a bit left over. All the ribbon was on sale so I splurged a little and stocked up lol. After I made the pillow I just hot glued the ribbon on. It took less than an hour & less than $5 to make. For the flower basket, I just found a simple wooden basket at Flower Factory for $2 and hot glued the satin and ribbon on it. It also cost me around $5 in material. For the bridesmaid bouquet, I bought a bouquet holder for $4 and a bush of hot pink roses (which were on sale half off) for $3.50. The bouquet cost me just under $10 total. I found the cake cutter and server for a really good price, $3, at Flower Factory and just added some ribbon to spice it up. It definitely pays off to DIY!

Candy/Dessert Buffet
 I was watching an episode of "How It's Made" today with my grandma and they were showing how the classic Hostess Snoballs are made. When they cut one open to show what all it was made of, it was like a freakin' epiphany! I have never seen Snoballs on a dessert buffet, but I think this is a very inexpensive and cool way to tie in hot pink in the reception. Loves it! I would have never thought of using these. Just thought I'd share. :)  |

For some reason, I am absolutely in love with this idea! What's cooler than having your face on an m&m?! Lol. I didn't think they made black m&m's, but to my suprise they do! :) Instead of picking white, I chose "shimmery pearl." tattoo!
So the FH has been wanting a tattoo for a LONG time. He was searching on the net last night and told me to come look at a picture of a tattoo he found. I usually look at them and roll my eyes, because I firmly believe if you get something tattooed on your body, it should mean something. But this time, it did! It was a fluer de lis with pink and black damask inside of it- representing our wedding! How cute! He asked me to draw one up on the computer today- here's the results. :) |

DIY Wedding
Another W...
Well I'm definitely embracing my soon-to-be new last initial, lol. This w is smaller than the others. It really isn't very complicated to paper mache them. I painted the edges hot pink and the w is damask. I also lined the sides with iridescent beads. This was another very inexpensive project since I already had everything at home. I was thinking about placing this next to the guest book. Sorry for the bad pic quality again- bad camera phone. |

DIY Wedding
3D Monogram
Boredom leads to a lot of things for me. While waiting for my MOH & best friend to get out of school yesterday, I decided to make a paper mache W. I then picked up the S and the A at Hobby Lobby today with my other best friend. A little paint, sequins, ribbon, and leftover material from my card box later- here is my completed 3D monogram. Less than $5 dollars in materials, and I already had everything at home except the S and the A. :) I was thinking of using this in the center of my head table. PS- Sorry for the poor picture quality... these pics were taken with my crappy camera phone. |
