Ask a Question
Candy buffets: budgets, flavors, and logistics!
I really want a candy buffet and I am planning on using that as my favor station. After a little researching about them yesterday I am shocked at how popular they are. I thought they were a relatively new thing emerging in the world of weddings. Anyway, I am a little overwhelmed by it. It's going to cost a whole lot more than I was thinking. So, I am wondering from other brides out there: where are you purchasing your candy? How much are you planning on buying? and how much are you planning to spend??

I also was wondering what size bags and boxes everyone was using for their guests to take candy home in. I found some organza bags for .14 that are 4" by 6". There are other sizes too, but that's the size i am considering.

Cutting corners is for me, so I need help on how to save those pennies on the candy buffet! Thanks in advance!

Big fat nosey head me. I wandered over from SNS's page. Are you doing all one color candy? If not, I suggest Sam's club or BJ's.

Oh, Michaela, Michaela, you could be everyone's invisible MOH!

Organza bags--keep looking, especially if you're planning on buying online.  I searched and searched for great prices.  The best deal I've found so far is 8 cents each, packages of 30 for $2.70, those are 3"x4" and I think that's a good size if you're trying to save money. But the size you're looking at is the same price...probably the same site.

Haha, I'm glad I double checked your size!
Happy planning!

Well-

I am doing the candy buffet at my wedding. I went to thrift stores and got the jars/dishes I'll be serving it all in. I spent a total of about $30 on 12 big jars/dishes. Our wedding is pretty big, about 150 people.

I went to Walmart and in the Wedding section they have clear candy bags, I think I spent $1.00 for 20 in one pack. Remember, the bigger the box/bag the more candy you have to purchase.

I will be purchasing my candy from Costco/Sams Club in bulk. Best price and lots of it! I am VERY afraid I am not going to buy enough candy, so I'm going overboard. I plan on spending beetween $200-$300 on candy, but I also have not checked out prices yet, so that price may go up or down, depending on what I  get.

Try thrift stores for your jobs and stores like Costco for your candy, where you can buy in bulk. There are also lots of bulk candy stores online, just google it. Good luck!

oh and I don't think the bags need to be that big, To be honest that is quite huge for candy buffets. Usually they are only 3 or 4 inches!

I found some cool glass vases at the dollar store and I am planning on purchasing some cheap items for the candy buffet from Sams. I'm doing blue and chocolate so chocolate candies of course, rock candies are pretty and easy to make as well!!

Hi~!~ I am doing a candy buffet as well for my wedding. I have bought big glass jars in a few different places so far, The dollar tree and the flower factory(that is a wholesale place by my home) But try looking around online, even fleamarkets stuff like that!
I am buying my candy from sam's club. But I also bought some pink/white m&m's on sale at walmart too! SO just keep your eye out for good deals!
And about the bags I found some on ebay... Prices vary depending on how many you would like. Good luck! :)
