Wedding Gift Registry
What should I be asking for???
I will be the first to admit I am not the "homemaker" type! I barely know how to cook but I am willing to learn, I hate housework and don't do any yardwork or gardening. My finance knew this going into it and I am trying to get better but that is just how it is right now:)
We are having a big wedding which means I need to register for tons of gifts for all the parties, showers, ect. that people are willing to throw for us. While many brides are probably thrilled about doing this it does not excite me at all because I don't know what I want or will need in the future! I have already registered at Target and Pottery Barn but both lists barely have two pages worth of stuff on them. Please give me ideas about what type of china, kitchenware, outdoor stuff or anything else you can think of that will be useful in our new home!!! |

It's a done deal!
I went and got measured and put the deposit down on my wedding dress yesterday!! That is a huge checkmark off of my list:) Here are some pictures of the Maggie Sottero dress I ordered and the bridesmaid dresses I also picked but in a garnet color. I can't wait until it comes in!

Wedding Cake
We ordered our cakes!!!
My fiance, his parents and I all went to my hometown this weekend to knock out a TON of wedding planning. We booked our photographer, met with the florist, ordered the wedding cake and grooms cake, looked at possible hotels for the out of town guests, met with the chef at the country club where our rehearsal and reception are taking place and created menus and did our first marriage counseling session! I now feel very good about things and with 9 more months to go till the wedding-dare I say I feel like I am ahead of schedule:)
The cake testing was by far my favorite part about the entire weekend...I have such a sweet tooth and eating all those yummy samples was just fabulous! I ended up choosing an almond cake with toffee filling and my fiance chose a white cake with strawberry buttercream filling for the grooms cake. I love, love, love the inspiration for my wedding cake...it's almost too pretty to eat:) I found the cake pictured at a bridal show that I went to in Nashville, TN and wanted it from the start. Our cake lady is going to copy it exactly (not one single thing will change) and I have to provide the brooches to be placed on it. My fiance is a Golf Pro and decided to create a 3-D Masters logo cake and I am excited to see how that turns out also. His cake will be the carved out yellow United States logo that is pictured and it will have another 3-D layer on the top with a single golf hole and a golf ball. I am super excited!!! |

Out of Town favors for the gift bags!
I am having my wedding in my hometown which means all my friends and my fiance's relatives will be getting hotel rooms. I was trying to come up with some unique favors to put in the gift bags for the out of town guests but the selection I have found online is the same old stuff I have seen. I posted up some of my favorites, but please tell me if you know of any different ideas or what you are doing for your own wedding!!

Wedding Dress
Four of my six favorite dresses
I am finally picking my wedding dress this coming Monday!!! I have been going to all these different wedding shops and after a month I have my choices narrowed down to my favorite six:) I never had one of those "this is the dress" moments but fell in love and could see myself wearing six different ones, just my luck! My mom, little sister and three of my bridesmaids are coming with me to help decide from six to "the one". Here are four of my choices but the other two I couldn't get to download:( Tell me what you think of these and I will reveal our pick next week!!

Wedding Hair Style
Potential Wedding Hair
I know my wedding is still kindda far away but I have been daydreaming about wedding hair lately. I don't want an updo because I believe in looking natural on your wedding day and not going crazy with all kinds of makeup or a new hairstyle you have never worn before ( just my opinion ). My friends can verify that I hardly even wear my hair in a ponytail so I think half up/half down is the best look for me that day. If you live in the Nashville, TN area a lady by the name of Mary Malone specializes in hair and her website is www.bridesbymary.com . I love the look that she created for one of her past brides and I attached the photos.

Wedding Flowers
Bouquets and Reception Flowers
I feel like I have been looking online at wedding stuff so long that everything is starting to run together. My problem is I like a lot of totally different styles and could see myself getting married with a traditional, preppy, modern, or romantic theme. Since I am getting married in the fall at least I have my colors narrowed down:) I am thinking so far red bridesmaid dresses and bouquets with red, burnt orange and some other accent colors that tie the season together. I really like the look of the curly willow branches in the centerpieces at the reception and a bunch of candles that are different heights. I added some of the pics of my favorite things! Let me know what you think.

Wedding Dress
2009 Sottero & Midgley
I was looking online at dresses yesterday ( big surprise) and found this beautiful dress on the Sottero & Midgley website. Since it is part of the 2009 collection none of the bridal shops where I live have it in yet. I want to try this dress on ASAP!!! One of the places has ordered it and the dress should be coming in during the next couple of weeks so I will keep you posted:)

Honeymoon
Bimini Island, Bahamas
I just got back from the Bahamas for a family friend's destination wedding and if you have no clue where to go for a honeymoon, look at this location!! It was fabulous:) If you are more into just laying around, getting sun and being with each other this is the place. They do have a couple little bars on the island and the locals are great. I might just consider going back in 10 months for my own honeymoon!
