Earrings
Got them on sale!
I kept putting off getting earrings and actually committing to a style for months now. Then last night I was browsing through different websites when I saw they were having a 20% off sale at Emitations that was only good till tonight at midnight. That was the kick I needed. So I got earrings I (will hopefully) love and saved an extra $20. Yay! Now I just need a necklace and veil and headpiece and garter and probably other things I'm forgetting...

Save the Dates

My FH and I like doing things differently. We didn't want regular save the dates but had no idea what to do. Magnets, cards, email, posters...we had no idea. Then I came across the website Zazzle. They would let you make your own postcards then print them up for you. And the price was amazing. Then we had to decide of a design. All of a sudden my FH says "let's do a ransom note!" I have no idea where this came from but I loved it. I'd never seen a save the date ransom note before.
So we cut up my wedding magazines and went to work. He got so into it, it was adorable. He even got a piece of lined paper and crumbled it up saying "now it'll look like it was wrapped around a brick and thrown through a window!" Maybe he was thinking about it a little too much. Afterward we scanned the note and uploaded it to Zazzle. They came out awesome and we've gotten tons of compliments. |

Changed the dresses...again
I picked out my bridesmaids dresses back in November and I really liked them...or so I thought. Fast forward to early January and me going into the store to place the order for my bridesmaid dresses. While I was going through the book showing the woman the dress I wanted, my eyes caught sight of the new Spring collection and there it was. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have my bridesmaids wear it. But also knowing how I tend to make decisions spur of the moment and mess everything up I stuck with the original dress. But over the next few days I couldn't get that dress out of my head. After consulting with many friends and family I changed the dress and I couldn't be happier. Almost all of my bridesmaids are a lot happier too. They love the dress. They can wear it again easily and it doesn't look like a bridesmaids dress. The underneath will be fuchsia and for my sister (my MOH) she will have rose underneath the stand out. Love, love, love it.
Now I just need to decide do I have them wear the same color shoes or whatever they want. And don't even get me started on jewelry. I am so lost. But at least they won't be naked! |

Wedding Shoes
In with the new
So a while back...like last year sometime I was out with my FI and we were talking about wedding stuff and being honest about what we liked and didn't like. So he says "as long as we're being honest, can I be honest about your shoes? I hate them." Well I was in shock, he's a boy he's never cared about shoes and all of a sudden the shoes I'm in love with he totally hates. Was it the color (I know fuchsia is a bit harsh sometimes)? Nope. Style? Of course not. It was the height. He hated that they made me just a tiny bit taller than he is. He's not short by any means, just when I wear 3 1/2" heels they put me maybe 1/4" taller. I tried to think of anything to keep these shoes but since he refused to wear lifts I really had no choice.
So being the compromising and wonderful person I am I agreed to send them back and find new shoes. Well after months and months of searching and cursing and complaining I finally found a new pair that I love. They're still by Kate Spade. They're the same color and they're half an inch shorter. Perfect!! They have a cute little bow (no sparkles but I can live with that). Plus these actually stay on my feet better and are a little more comfortable. And they were cheaper! Bonus! |

Fianlly picked out the dresses!
After many weeks and possibly months of going back and forth about bridesmaid dresses and the colors I finally came to a decision and I love them!
I went with dresses by the Dessy Collection. They'll be navy blue with a fuchsia ribbon. My MOH is my sister and she'll be wearing the second dress in the same colors. I wish I could show you the back of her dress, it's awesome. The pink ribbon goes all the way to the bottom and looks so cool. Hopefully they'll look good with each other and my dress. In my head they definitely do. |

How much are you spending on flowers?
Recently my FH and I started looking at florists. So far we have 2 price quotes: $2900 and $2100...yikes! Who knew flowers could get so expensive?
These quotes include bouquets for me and my 7 bridesmaids, the boutonnieres for my FH and his 7 groomsmen, corsages for our moms and centerpieces for 16 tables. Now I know being on Long Island causes the price of everything to go up but is this what I can expect to be spending? How much did you girls or spend or are planning to spend on flowers? |

Looking back at the last time I posted makes me realize how bad I've been about my slacking on the wedding planning. Hopefully I won't let that happen again. Time is moving way too quickly!
Anyway, looking at all of the amazing card boxes on WBC that all of you girls have done made me want to make one too. But seeing as how I can let large amounts of time slip by without doing anything wedding related, I've decided that maybe DIY isn't the way to go for me. So I started looking around and finally found one I love. It has an old fashioned look that I think it really cute. The price is great. I found it online at Save on Crafts (which is one of my favorite sites). I'll probably put pink flower petals in the bottom and maybe tie some ribbon on top. Perfect! |

Wedding Dress
Found it! Loves it!
After much searching and complaining I found my wedding dress. It's exactly what I wanted. I love the lace and the back is amazing. As soon as I put it on I knew it was the one. And the best part? It's waaaay cheaper than the other dresses I was liking. My mom is so much happier. I love finding good deals. And I love my wedding dress!!!

I got them!
I've been going back and forth about shoes for the wedding for a little while now. Well I finally just bought them. They were the last pair in my size so I felt like it was a sign that I had to buy them. They're by Kate Spade, they're hot pink and I'm in love. They remind me of the dress Marilyn Monroe wore in Gentleman Prefer Blondes when she sings Diamonds are Girl's Best Friend.
I adore them and I can't wait for them to arrive. Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they don't kill my feet. I've got time to wear them around the house and break them in...hopefully! |
