Before I was even engaged I knew picking out bridesmaid dresses wasn't something I was going to look forward to doing. My bridesmaids are all different body types so trying to find a dress that would look good on all of them would be difficult. So I've decided to let them pick their own dresses. I'll pick a designer and a color and they can go nuts.
I loooove the Jim Hjelm Occasions line. I would buy almost any of these dresses for myself so I'm hoping they'll be able to find at least one dress they like. My only requirements are that it be long (our ceremony is at 8pm so I feel like long is more appropriate) and it should be in the color Raspberry.
Maybe I should think about if the color would look good on all of them but then I'll end up with some hodgepodge assortment of colors and my bridesmaids will start to resemble the inspiration for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. And afterall this is my wedding so I get to be a little bossy. ; )

Of course you get to be bossy - it is your day!  Raspberry is a gorgeous color - no complaints here!  I had an idea the other night though: since there will be 7 of us - you had mentioned considering navy blue too.  What if you had 4 in raspberry and 3 in navy blue?  (That might work better if we all wore the same dress though...)  Then when we lined up we'd be: rasp, navy, rasp, navy, rasp, navy, rasp.  I dunno, just another idea - if it's too confusing just ignore it :)
